What to do with contents of MPEG2DEC2.zip file?

Hi guys,

Sorry for yet another noob question . I just downloaded Tom Barry's MPEG2DEC2 (through the link @ avisynth.org) for use with Avisynth 2.07, and I'm wondering what in the heck I need to do with the 36_OTHER_files that are included in the zip? 8O One of which is another DLL called "MPEG2DEC_ER". Do I need BOTH of these .dll's? Do I need to keep all the other files too? Is there anything special I'm supposed to do with all that stuff? (besides gazing at it like a deer in the headlights) :?

Do I just put MPEG2DEC2.dll into the Plugins folder within my Avisynth2 folder and delete the rest of the stuff in the zip, or should I just create a separate folder called "MPEG2DEC2" and unzip everything in there and just keep the entire contents of the zip?

If someone knowledgable could please let me know, or possibly download and look at the contents of the MPEG2DEC2.zip file from Tom Barry to see what I'm talking about, I'd really appreciate it. (I'm very close to trying my first kvcd...and it'd be great if I could do my 1st encode overnight tonight!).

Thanks!

I couldn't find the link to MPEG2DEC2 from the http://www.avisynth.org site but I think if you just extract the MPEG2DEC2.dll file from the .zip to any directory and point avisynth to it via LoadPlugin("path/MPEG2DEC2.dll") shouldn't be a problem

Many thanks for the advice Ren! :) I sort of figured that was the case, but I guess I'm just being overly cautious so that hopefully everything will go smoothly on my very first try (I was taught that "if you're gonna do something, do it right the first time!" ). I guess most of the other files in that zip are probably 'source' code and such for programmer-types. I'm still curious as to what that other "MPEG2DEC_ER.dll" is supposed to be or what it's doing there, but I guess it doesn't really matter. It sure would be nice if somewhere within those other 35 files(not counting the 2 .dll's), it actually said what all that stuff was and what to do with it! I checked the included readme and help files, but they don't say...I guess that's the drawback of intelligent programmers writing docs for silly noobs like me.

By the way, in case you or anyone else is interested, the link on avisynth.org for the MPEG2DEC2 download (as well as MPEG2DEC, MPEG2DEC3, and MpegDecoder by Nic) can be found here: http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?pa...lorspaces#q3.3. It's under Question 3.3, about half-way down the page in the "MPEG Decoder(source) Plugins" section.

Thanks again. Hopefully I'll be posting some positive results soon, thanks to your help and others! :D
