I have a couple of Macs. An iBook and an older PowerPC G4. Both running Mac OS X 10.3
It's really a beauty of an operating system :!:
There's a big difference from the OS 8.x you're running, to the current OS X.
If you like the one you're now testing, you'll love OS X :D
I tried PearPC on my P4, and it runs OS X under windows, but it's Slowoowwwwwww
But PearPC is a real technical achievement. Hell, emulating a PowerPC Processor on Intel, is a hell of a task. They are completely different and complex architectures, but they did it :)
Maybe it will get optimized with time
I remember doing the opposite. Running Windows XP on the PowerPC, and that does run very well and reasonably fast. But then, the program was VirtualPC, at the time when Connectix was the developer, and they did an excelent engineering on that software.
The product is now owned by Microsoft.

@Kwag,

Just tried Fusion PC v3.0 and it ROCKS!!!!! It's twice
as fast as Basilisk and when you insert a 3.5" diskette 1.4MB,
Fusion PC displays it and auto starts it. No more
"CTRL+SHIFT+F11". I,m tryng PCExchange to send files between
Mac and PC (mostly word and excel). Some software I copied from
5.25 floppy to 3.5 diskette will not run (haven't figured this out yet)
and others works just fine. I checked current prices for Speedway
and Milliken educational software that the school has and it getting
into the 1,000's of dollars to replace this stuff. If they have to
throw it away, what a waist. The stuff that works has good graphics
and sound. This just keeps getting better and better 8) Again,
thanks for you ideas Kwag
