KDVD: Correct aspect ratio conversion process
Hi,
Can someone please explain, what is the correct and timeproven method of conversion of aspect ratios from 1:1 to anamorphic. The more I read, the more confused and lost I get. I would appreciate if someone can explain the step with example so that I can then convert it onto a parameterized formula and use forever. for eg. lets say source : 640 x 272 destination : 720 x576 anamorphic How do you convert (step by step) and what would be the resize/border values. Thanks, PS: Does FitCD do a good job of it. I get confused with the parameters to be selected for the source. |

2/ enter the source parameters 3/ select the dest parameters 4/ copy past the result found by FitCD into your script. There is no need to do that manually. PS: there is no confusion to have, just open the source and FitCD set all automatically. |
Thanks Phil, but in FitCD, I work with the default values for Source or do I change anything ??? (I know I have to select "Anamorphic" in the destination).
What is the relation between the "real aspect" ratios of the source and destination. Do I have to strive to keep them as close to each other as possible.!!! |

Note: don't forget to select "1:1 monitor" as source A/R. This is the most important ! Edit : this is what you will have in the end with an overscan set to 2. http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i...2005/09/17.jpg |
Given the source res (640x272) I am betting that this can well be an AVI.
I don't recall it right now but I think FitCD will create a script with a DirectShowSource("..."). Maybe it would be advisable to use an AVISource("...") instead. Cheers |

Only use the resize/borders part of the script generated with FitCD ;-). Cheers |
