So, Kwag, Link2-avi was creared is good, just program doesn't find it ?

kwag 05-23-2003 12:58 PM

This is weird :!:
The pseudo-avi file is created, but if I exit link2.exe, the created file dissapears 8O

Dissapears ???
"...but if I exit link2.exe, the created file dissapears ..." -
when you do it manually ? (I don't delete any file!)

No, the problem is not you :!:, it's even when I run link2.exe manually and create the avi, the avi is there :!: But when I exit link2.exe, the avi dissapears 8O
Maybe some program in my machine is playing a trick on me
I have about one hour to finish an encode, and then I'll reset the machine and try again.

migor 05-23-2003 02:04 PM

Ufff, that's what I wanted to hear - "No, the problem is not you " !
I reviewed the source code several times and didn't find anything...
I'm very close to including VFAPIreader support, which can replace Link2 in several cases (unregistered etc...).

jorel 05-25-2003 02:05 AM

hi migor
:)

see that is possible:

can i do with svcdbuilder like i do in dvd2svcd in this post?
warning: is a big lecture with horrible english, believe me:

http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3576
is on the post 3 in the thread.

my idea is change to your program to give me
only the video script and the audio logs.

if this lecture bore you, forget the idea :!:
my intention is :
audio/video fade in and fade out using frame selection, as i call it!
with svcdBuilder,MovieStacker,ToK,HeadAC3he and some more.
see that i got the results posted there and
i'm posting the same in the portuguese forum in portuguese,of course.
oh no,my boring english.

the new dvd2svcd changed some,
giving problems when you choose tmpgenc and i'm thinking that
this changes are intentionals....maybe. :?
i feel this after post this guide in....another forum, you know.
 jealous people, i think :!:

thanks in advance!
:)

migor 05-27-2003 02:00 AM

Hi, Jorel !

I've read your posts. How can I understand, you want to get an AVS script and WAV file only as result, and then to feed these files to other tools (MovieStacker etc...). I think, you will need also pseudo-avi files, each one for each movie part, because I don't know, if it's possible to feed *.avs files directly to the audio encoder.
Is that enough, or something else is necessary (set BeSweet's options, changes in the script etc...)?

BTW: the new version 2.1.3.6 is out. Few bugs fixed, improved setup procedure - no stupid errors messages, the program bundle is extended - highly recommended to download the program bundle, unpack it and run the program file for initial setup.

Regards,

jorel 05-27-2003 03:15 AM

migor, :)

pseudo-avi? 8O
it's too much for my knowledge friend!

see:
after use frame selection selecting the
desired positions in the preview, the dvd2svcd program give file .d2s .

editing this .d2s , i see the selected frames for each part, like this:
[FrameSelection0]
FrameFrom=xx
FrameTo=xxxxx
CDSize=
NumCDs=

[FrameSelection1]
FrameFrom=zzz
FrameTo=zzzz
CDSize=
NumCDs=

[FrameSelection3]
...etc.

and i got the full .ac3 with the logs from BeSweet like this:
...fs1.log :
...-split( -start 0 -end 1882.44911578245 )
...fs2.log :
-split( -start 1882.44911578246 -end 3599.33266599933 )
...fs3.log :
...etc.

:!: the preview in SVCDBuilder is fantastic to do it :!:

Michael, don't need the waves,
:!: only the logs from the selected frames of video and audio :!:
the full ac3 will be fantastic too.

thanks for the new version 2.1.3.6 :!:
:D

migor 05-27-2003 04:17 AM

Ok, Jorel, I understood now.

What do you need - to split visually the source project and recalculate frame numbers to time values, save all to the text file. And extract AC3 track from vobs.
I will check all this, maybe it's simple to do an additional application for that.

Hi Michael,

I downloaded your new version. It's currently encoding in CCE 8)
When it finishes the process, I'll patch CCE with KVCD's Q. Matrix and then do another encode to see how it looks. I would love to see this program work with TMPEG, mainly because of the advantage of using the longer GOP and the matrix, which yields the best MPEG-1 result currently available. The MPEG-1 quality produced by TMPEG with this combination exceeds CCE or ProCoder at low bit rates. That's the main reason we use TMPEG for KVCDs. Have you considered some method of doing subtitles automatically in the process :?:

andybno1 05-27-2003 12:08 PM

how come the program cannot load a d2v file with spaces in the filename?

migor 05-27-2003 12:58 PM

Hi, Kwag!
Thanks for your help and participation!
I would like to know if your current project will be finished successfully, which muxer do you use. I use I-Author muxer, it gives me perfect results and smaller (up to 5MB) image size. I suspect, that two other muxers may not work perfectly yet, maybe it's needed to add muxers setup dialog to set muxers' options?

About TMPGenc:
Yes, I will add it's support ASAP. I see, that your templates are VERY popular and a lot of people work with TMPGenc. I want to try it too.
Here I will need your help a little and suggestion on how to do this better:
1. I must have a list of the templates
2. I must load one selected template
3. And then, I need to set bitrates and something else,
or I need only to modify some values in the template (it's a text file) ?

Subtitles...yes, but at first I would like to solve all possible problems, I know some of them, to add TMPGenc, to add "Save project" option (the batch encoding is one of requested futures), to improve a little ProCoder handling...

migor 05-27-2003 01:06 PM

@andybno1:

Hi !
"how come the program cannot load a d2v file with spaces in the filename?"
I basically use the file name for naming the Album, and it's a limitation of VCDImager. Use underscore "_" instead.
However, I will check it more thoroughly, and I plan to include the other variation of VCDImager, which supports small letters.

Hi migor,

You don't need the templates :!: What you need it the KVCD parameters that are in the templates :)
You need two things:
(1) The GOP of 1-24-2-1-24 (For NTSC 23.976fps Film), 1-25-2-1-25 (For 25fps PAL) or 1-30-2-1-30 (For NTSC 29.97fps).
(2) The KVCD "Notch" Quantization Matrix. You can see that in all the KVCD templates. You need to patch CCE with those values using CCE-Patcher. You can't use the matrix with ProCoder, because it doesn't provide for that.
My encoding crashed again today in CCE for some reason :x , so I still don't have an answer for you .
I'll try again later tonight :!:

is there a way u can get ur prog to open file with spaces in file name and then add the underscore in afterwards for vcdimager?

jorel 05-28-2003 03:35 AM

Kwag,

did you adjust the CCE matrix to [CCE 2.6x Standard] ?

if i use the [KVCD Notch BETA-1a] , CCE crash in my system :!:

Hi jorel,

No, I used the default matrixes in CCE.

@andybno1

It will be done in the next update.

migor 05-29-2003 04:56 PM

Hi !

New update V2.1.3.7 is online:
Added experimental AVI support.
Added experimental "Save project" option. This feature will be expanded and "Load project" function will be added.
Project file name may contain spaces now.
Encoder settings are written in the task list too.

TMPGEnc is on queue.
