You get the average bitrate directly from Moviestacker. When you run Moviestacker to set up your filters, resizing, etc., just note the average bitrate and the movie time in minutes. Moviestacker will give you those parameters immediately when you open your .d2v :)

BTW: Moviestacker has a bug... If you say u wanna make 2 cds... he somehow divides the audio size by 2
So be carefull with your bitrate calculations!

Can't wait to get a working version... still have some encoding to do over the weekend (Only 3 days of school left... then finally holidays! 1 Year left and I'm out of school!). I guess I'll have to stick with ToK (which is great too) :)
(Guess there is no working version, which we could use to play a lil bit today? :roll: :wink: )

jorel 07-19-2003 07:31 AM

Razorblade2000 my friend,

please,wait for the answer in MovieStacker thread
cos you ask the same there :!:

thanks for advice!
:)

Razorblade2000 07-19-2003 07:39 AM

Yes I did...
But I don't know for which answer I should wait... it's a bug... there is a mistake in the soucre code :(

I only pointed at it in this thread so you won't have any trouble with the avg bitrate Moviestacker gives you... (therefore I put the "BTW" in front of it)

It's not a bug :)
If you have 2 CDs, it's divided by the proportion to fit on 2 CDs, because the video is split on 2 CDs. If you target for 3 CDs, it's divided even further. If you look at the sum of audio + video for each CD when you target 2 CDs, you'll see that it closely matches the ~800MB ;)

@All,
Thanks for all the comments.
Now I'm back to work, to see when I can get this thing out the door :!:

Razorblade2000 07-19-2003 02:06 PM

But actually the average bitrate gets screwd up by this "feature"?!
Doesn't it?

@Kwag,

Just getting in on CQmatic and it a great idea!!!! :D File prediction is the
weakness of my process and this independent program is perfect :wink:
I haven't given up on avisynth 2.5.x and MA filtering. I use it all the
time now, except do manual file predictions. CQmatic will sure make
it much easier :D

Razorblade2000 07-19-2003 04:11 PM

I've got the idea that this lil tool will change the size of MVCDs that are released from 300-800 MB to 780-800MB :wink: (which was common with kvcds on the net)

BTW:
I am talking about the legal holiday movies you can download :wink: :lol: :D

kwag 07-19-2003 04:27 PM

Version 0.9 Alpha posted!
Fully functional, without prediction yet :!:
Please test it. TMPEG should now execute and encode your project file.
Remember to save your project from TMPEG as Text file.
This is the last non-prediction release. The next will be a full working BETA release, which functional file prediction. Please report any bugs on the current version.

How do you do that? The version I'm using (2.513) just has ctrl+s to save the project :oops:

Razorblade2000 07-19-2003 04:34 PM

Nice!
Still found no bugs...
BTW: What time is it in Puerto Rico?
EDIT: Do you live in a town called "Puerto Rico" in the US? Or do you live in the US and Puerto Rico (traveling...)?

I live in San Juan, Puerto Rico :D
There is no town called "Puerto Rico" in the US. Puerto Rico is an island, which is U.S territory ;)

@Kwag,

CQmatic working fine on my system (Windows ME). I setup Tmpgenc
and saved project as Tmpgenc text tpr. Executed CQmatic, entered
movie time in minutes and average bitrate from moviestacker. Pressed
project button and selected text project and Execute. CQmatic started
Tmpgenc automatically. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that file prediction
will go just as smoothly. :)
