Hi Kwag, Great prog...except looks like I'm the only one having a problem with it :!: Help :!:
I run CQMatic and select my project file. BTW I am doing Signs (as it's been the most flawed of my encodes in terms of prediction). I load the .TPR file I saved from TMPegEnc. I set my movie length in minutes and the average bitrate from moviestacker. When I run it though the log looks like this. Code:
Executing Prediction Phase... Heres what I have tried to work out whats going on. I notice the prog creates 2 TMpeg project file. I tried loading the CQMaticMster.Tpr file from TMPEG and it loaded fine. But when I try to load CQMatic.TPR and it errors with this: Code:
"=" is necessary. per 1831 line. Code:
item I even tried removing all the config files and running the process from scratch but it keeps happening. I'm using Tmpeg 2.513. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Cheers. Fiz |
Just as an add-on, I compared CQMaticMaster.TPR with CQMatic.TPR and it looks like there is extra stuff being written to my CQMatic.TPR file.
It should end at StartTime = 5880 : Code:

good point Avalon.
for me,if CQMatic can encode few minutes is cool cos i ever use musical clips to make a big encode! |
Burahahahaha ich lach mich schlapp!!!!!!!
Shell I translate that Jorel?   |

It was a AVS file I tried. The CQMatic.TPr file is almost identical to the CQMaticMaster.TPR except it has some extra information. CQMatic.TPR is 73Kb where as the CQMaticMaster.TPR is 44Kb. Does this sound right? I tried deleting all these files and starting over but it seems to create a bigger file and adds some extra 'item' info into that section. Hope it makes sense. Fiz |
oops...sorry Avalon,
i was wrote about this posted: "Or do nobody want to encode 2 minutes with cqmatic?" good point, got? |
@jorel: Year now i got it...
@Fiz: I must wait till TMPGEnc has finished encoding a AVS-file... I tried to open 2 of it, but this didn't work... So I can try Your problem in about 30 min... Hang on. Maybe Your way is the right one... Don't know it yet. I had to test my DVD2KVCD using DVD2SVCD Guide... It's always the f###ing time ... |
@Fiz,
You have a problem on your saved project. Make sure the range is set to start frame = 0 and end frame = -1 and also that the "Cut Editing" is Reset. Make sure the " "Source range" is unchecked Then save your project. -kwag |

Thanks Racer99 |

Thanks, you're right :!: It's worked :D I must've clicked it on previously and although it was unchecked, it might have had values in it. Good to know I wasn't going crazy :!: :!: |
My AVS work too!!! No problems when You know how...

Hi,
Just ran a test with a 91 min movie, 1039 average bitrate (got from Moviestacker), and the final CQ I got is 56,25, when I just encode it yesturday at 66... I'm in the PAL World, and this movie is from Divx one, using the MA avs script... One more thing: it's not possible to copy/paste the Log. A save button would be nice... Thanks |
I'm still trying Your prog...
Today i let ToK do the work... Sorry! I let CQMatic work for over an hour... and it only jumps 0.01 % upp and down... ToK had the wanted CQ in less than 15 Min. ... There is a lot work to do! I can say you: If You have a SVCD as source, don't use CQMatic... ... till now ... Go on!!!! I think You'll get it!!! |
Geez...
Was getting ready to put my head against the door frame and SMASH repeatedly with door when the program worked the first time but not anymore. Before proceeding, decided to check the forum under bugs and lo and behold; same problem I had. Same cure worked for me. (Thanks Kwag) Running under Win2K by the way. |
Evening Kwag.. and others..
@ Kwag.. I can't say for sure weather this is a BUG or glitch. Ok.. let me explain, and you see if i'm going cookoo. * In TMPG, I create a project file *.tpr and save it to a folder * I open CQMatic * set my options accordingly, and finally point it to my *.tpr folder (above) * NOW, I proceed to run CQM w/ PredictionOnly and Execute! Now, I find that something's wrong, ..yes, you guested it, I fogot to turn off Source Range in TMPG. Soo.. I cancel CQM and stop TMPG (that's the correct order) then.. * In TMPG, I reload the project file *.tpr and uncheck the SourceRange ...and resave it in the same folder. * I restart CQM and load in that SAME project file that I just resaved ...in TMPG. Example, "Dogma.tpr" * I then proceed to re-run the same process inside CQM. When I observe TMPG's window, I noticed that the same amount of frames were being encoded :!: :!: And, not my re-saved one. So, it would seem that CQM is pulling it's "CQMaticMaster.tpr" or "CQMatic.tpr" file just continues to use it. Do you consider this a BUG ?? EDIT: 1.. Yes, to add in what I said, (just finished a 2nd verification) those that have not expeirenced this glitch, is probably because that if there are any glitches, they are so minor, that they can't be picked out so easily, so they are not noticing it yet. EDIT: 2.. I think that when you first save a project the first time, however it's remembering, that same mechanism is being used to recall the previous CQM's *.tpr file.. somewhere's in the [Open Project] button's event. It probably should open THAT .tpr file you select, and THEN create it's other config files. Just a suggestion  Yes ?? -vhelp |
Hi all.
Just an FYI.. the latest change, which happens to be v0.92 (beta 2) at this time, still occopies that same glitch I mentioned above, in my previous post. Just to repeat the gitch again here: * My newest created *.tpr file has no Source Range in it, but w/ the newest version, it's still repeating the glitch.. opening up it's internal *.tpr settings and using those instead of my NEW *.tpr file :) Keep up the good work. -vhelp |
Hi vhelp,
It's not a bug. That's the way CQMatic works. CQMatic sets the source range for prediction ;) -kwag |
First, great tool kwag!
Now, I don't know if it's a "bug" or not, but I've been having some problems. I'm using KDVD-Full and the current MA script with the addition of Telecide and Decimate after the source line. CQMatic beta 2 just can't seem to lock on a predicted file size. I've let it run for as long as 2 hours. When I remove Telecide and Decimate, CQ is determined after 3 of 4 sample encodings and is always dead on. I've tried this with 5 different sources and the result is always the same. Has anyone else experienced this? |
Quote:
I've experienced the same, with only movie. But the other 5 I did didn't have Telecide and Decimate, so it's a prediction issue and not a IVTC issue :) I'll be working on the program heavily today, and hopefully I'll have BETA 3 up tonight ;) -kwag |
hey kwag. ya I have an 87 min babylon 5 dvd (2 eps) that I'm trying to encode, and cqmatic keeps cycling between CQ 64.69 and 63.50 during its prediction cycle... so not quite sure what's going on! This is with beta 2

Hmmm... funny...
2 Windows pop up after I click start... (only appearing for milliseconds) then they close... after that TMPGEnc pops up and displays an "Illegal Stream Format" The windows that pop up are TMPGEnc ones!? CQ goes up to 100 as sample size = 0 (Difference = -21793938) |
Hi Razorblade,
There's a problem in your .tpr project file. Make sure you saved it as a "TEXT" project. And make sure you reset your source range and Cut edit to defaults, before you save your project. -kwak |
ohhhh... so no clipping?!

It isn't selected :?:
hmmmm P.S. Ohhhh... everytime these windows pop up, there is this error... and if I click it away, he'll encode the full clip P.P.S. Hmmmm... not everytime... only sometimes |
What version of TMPEG are you using :?:
|
It worked with my first try... so it should work with this one also...
I use: 2.520.54.163 Plus |
That's my version too, and I've had zero problems, as long as I save my .tpr as text and cleared source range
-kwag |
Seems as if CQMatic changed my tpr file... even if sourcerange isn't checked... just a sec...
|
right...
source range was unchecked... but i had to doubleclick it... then set ir back to default (including a "out of bouds" error msg)!!! |
Error "=" is necessary. per 1589 line
Hi,
As tmpgenc was just 'flashing', I tried opening the generated tpr file, and I get this error. After looking at the CQMatic.tpr file, I see that line 1589 is like that: Code:
item After a look at tmpgenc, I had to do what Razorblade2000 did: doubleclick on Source Range (even if it wasn't selected), accept all errors it gives me, and save this new project. This way it work. So Isn't it possible that CQMatic clear all Range information before writing his own ones? Thanks & Salu2 |

There are so many conditions that you can set in a project file, that any structure change, would require an excesive amount of file parsing to figure out each one's .tpr file. And that's a programming nightmare  -kwag |
Just had the same error with Illegal Stream Format. Source Range was unchecked.
Got it working with a doubleclick on Source Range, Discard, Confirm error message (floating error) and then assigned start to start frame and end to end frame. Then i left this window and unchecked source range once again. Saved project as textfile and it worked :D . |
Just had a bug:
I removed all filters from my avs and started with a CQ of 60. Then CQMatic did prediction and next CQ was 51.75. Next was 51.75 and again and again 8O . Then i started with a CQ of 50 instead of 60, next CQ was 52.36, then 50.74, 51.28, finally 51.01. Movie Details: Length of video 23 minutes, Average Bitrate=1111, wanted video filesize: 188.61 MB. Right now i'm redoing with Start-CQ=60 to give you more details about sample size etc. BTW: I think a log file would be great for posting predicition results etc. |
