Cool. I am looking for amore robust way to estimate and use CCE. I amusing Tylo's Robshot/bach program http://home.no.net/tylo/
with dvd2svcd. The Autoit script stuff is buggy at times.

Is there any possible way of making a version of CQmatic into a plugin for DVD2SVCD? That would be cool. One shot program to do it all withsuperior file prediction!!!!!!! :lightbulb:

I don''t think so. I've taken a complete different approach to other tools available. Instead of trying to put many options in the program, I rely on the robustness and flexibility of the encoder. This is the case with TMPEG. For CCE and MCE, I still have to read and learn the capabilities they provide for automation. For MCE and CCE, I'm pretty sure it will be similar to control as TMPEG. The only thing I'm not sure is if I'll be able to do prediction the way I have implemented it now. Right now, I'm controling the time slices completely in TMPEG. That is, I don't use any AviSynth functions at all. No "Sampler()", no SelectRangeEvery(), etc.

Hey :!:, don't expect too much :lol: This is my first real Windows (GUI) program I've ever done :!: ( I'm a U*IX programmer ), so all I've ever done is what I call "Programming behind the scenes". That is, background programs (daemons), low level serial communications, etc. So if CQMatic blows up in your face, I'm not responsible :!: It's free, so if it doesn't work, there's no refund :mrgreen:
Just give the program some time to grow ( a couple of days in KVCD's time frame ;) )

Can you make this option so that you have to explicitly set it each time as with Tok i sometimes forget i have the flag turned on and when I am working at the computer, the machine powers down,

Oh yes. The default will always be OFF (No shutdown).
And if you turn it on, next time you run the program, it will be off, so you have to turn it back ON if you want the PC to shutdown ;)
The only thing that is "persistent" is the path to the encoder. That is saved after you select the encoder, and you don't have to set it again, unless you move the CQMatic executable to some other directory.

Edit: I'll probably do it even better. I'll bring up a countdown timer window with a "Shutdown in X seconds", so you have the option to continue or abort shutdown ;)
This way, it you forgot that you set "Shutdown after encode", and you're working on the computer, you'll be notified

Any plans to integrate a faster pre-full sample prediction algorithm (such as Tenra's) to zero in on the approximate CQ? It took ~1 1/2 hrs to find the cq (six samples each 15 min to encode). I'll let you know in about eight hours how the filesize turns out :wink:

The same happend to me too!
It's happend with the resolutions 352x288, 352x240, 352x576 and 352x480.
In the resolutions 528x480/576 and 704x480/576 it will work.
I'm encode TombRaider now and I got the wanted CQ in beta2 in 10 min.
With beta2a in 9 min. I encode now the movie in CQ 48,15.

BTW: DVD2SVCD wanted to encode this movie in CQ 50
