Tried new version and an error pops up before cqmatic starts. It says the project is not a text project in tmpgenc. D2KCQmatic.exe is in the output folder.

azel 10-22-2003 09:15 AM

Sorry for all the bugs in the plugin
I don't know why all you got all the errors, and not me :?

Magnus
When the videoencoding starts, the plugin shuold open TMPGEnc, save the project as an text project, and then start CQMatic.
So, can you check out that the text project file exsist? The filename should be TMPGEnc_Project_file_KVCD.tpr. If you open the file in notepad, you can read the text if it's a text project file.

magnus 10-22-2003 06:33 PM

Azel
I ran the plugin again and after it freezes and the the error comes up I checked both project files. "Tmpgenc_project_file.tpr" and "tmpgenc_project_file_kvcd.tpr" will open with notepad but when trying to open with cpmatic it says they are not text project files.

What path does CQMatic trying to open???
Can you give me the full path, and then the path to tmpgenc_project_file_kvcd.tpr :?:

Maas

What kind version of TMPGEnc do you use???
OS???
Prosessor/RAM?

If you want, you can try to install AutoIt.
AutoIt is the program I made DVD2KVCD with, mayby the script will run better if you have it....??? Give it a try, those bugs are driving me crazy :?

magnus 10-23-2003 01:16 PM

Cqmatic is in c:\d2s and opens fine. The project files are placed in d:\movie workbench\dvd2svcd movie. It continues to say they are not text files and cannot be opened.

Does DVD2KVCD the "right things"?
This is what DVD2KVCD should do:
-First it should open TMPGEnc
-Then open Save dialog
-Enter path for the .tpr file
-Choose text project file
-Save

-Open CQMatic
-...

Maas 10-23-2003 02:29 PM

Maas

magnus 10-23-2003 02:47 PM

I believe it is doing everything correctly except saving the project as a regular project file instead of a text project file.

Hi Maas,

FYI: I have not been following this thread closely, but I did notice that you are using a bad version of TMPG. Version 2.59 has some nasty muxing bugs. In fact, it is the only recent version of tmpg that is NOT recommended to use. You should either downgrade to version 2.58 or else upgrade to any newer version higher than 2.59 (but you should probably get the most recent version, which is 2.521).

While I doubt that this is the source of your current problem, it still might give you grief later on if you don't upgrade! 8O

Good luck,
-d&c

Did you end up with two .mpg/image files, end the last file was to big?
Did you use CQMatic, or DVD2SVCDs internal fileprediction?
If you use DVD2SVCDs internal fileprediction, you can goto encoder tab end lower the CQ value factor.
Hint: You can try (CDsize1 + CDSize2) / (file1 + file2) = CQ value factor

Request

Please uncheck "Auto Shutdown"

magnus 10-29-2003 06:44 PM

Azel
Any luck with the cqmatic problem. I don't think it is saving the project as a text file.

azel 10-30-2003 08:34 AM

Can you tell me exactly where it goes wrong?

This is what DVD2KVCD should do:
Code:

1) First it should open TMPGEnc
2) Then open Save dialog  (by pressing Ctrl + S)
3) Enter path for the .tpr file (by pressing Ctrl + C, the path is in your clipboard at this moment)
4) Choose text project file (by pressing TAB, then press 3 down, and 2 up again.
5) Save (by pressing ENTER)

-Open CQMatic
-...

Look at the "recipe", and tell me where it makes the fault, and maybe you can tell me alternative key presses to solve the problem.

TheDJ 10-30-2003 08:53 AM

Yes i also agree, get rid of the auto shutdown, i forget about it sometimes, and return to my PC and its off! 8O

Another thing i noticed, with some skvcd's i make, the file prediction isnt working properly, and end file size is sometimes 690-700MB's.

Other than that, the program is working great! Thanks again Azel....

Well, sometimes I forget to uncheck it, and I belive that the computer should be shutdown, and it doesn't 8O
I surely remove it in the next version.

You said that the program was working. So CQMatic works to?
Maybe I add an extra pass, if the filesize is below xx % of the calculated CD size.

If somebody are interested to develop the plugin, the source code is here. I made it with AutoIt, it's a easy to learn, and has a lot of functions!

rpiepoli 10-30-2003 01:13 PM

Why you not change 4) in by pressing TAB, then press A,then press T,then press T

Hi !
I only have one problem at the moment
When I use CQMatic, it starts with a CQ value about 80 but ends up
with a CQ at 2 or 4, and then the encoder uses this CQ and it looks horrible.
I dont get it ?

Azel, just tried the latest beta version, and it didnt work.

Got to tmpgenc, and stayed at the wizard window? very unusual..i was quite dissapointed, then got a messages from dvd2kvcd2 saying "Press ctrl+alt+del to unfreeze." ????

How can i get the old version back, the current one is not doing me any favours.

:x

TheDJ 11-03-2003 07:04 AM

Oh one other thing i forgot to mention, the bitrates of the latest d2k are still wrong, max. bitrate: 2000, max average bitrate: 2500.

azel 11-03-2003 12:16 PM

Updated version :D

DVD2KVCD 2.0.7

-Small bug fixes
-New avisynth script: MA for 4:3 interlaced sources
-TMPGEnc project wizard problem

TheDJ 11-03-2003 01:19 PM

Nice one Azel, gonna test it now!!

thx

TheDJ® 8)

TheDJ 11-04-2003 02:07 PM

Hi Azel,

Still got probs with the latest 2.0.7 release.

Gets to CQMatic stage and says "Please check movie time and/or average" and when i click ok and got the error, this is not a text file.

But when i uncheck the new CQMatic, it encodes ok, but i would like to test with the new CQmatic parameters.

Also, bitrates are wrong and auto shut down is still there.

thx

Can you download latest version of DVD2KVCD 2.0.8, it should create a log. Goto DVD2SVCD's output path, and post DVD2KVCD_log.txt in this topic.

TheDJ 11-05-2003 12:32 PM

I only see 2.0.7 on 1st page...

ssarwar12 11-05-2003 12:55 PM

This is an excellent plugin for DVD2SVCD but I have few problems with it.

1- When DVD is anamorphic MAscript adds black lines at top and bottom so when I watch it on widescreen TV it has black bars on top and bottom. Can this be corrected. I know DVD2SVCD has an option of not adding borders but MA script does not.

2- When I encode a movie in VCD(704x480) format, picture jerks(stops and then starts - not watchable at all) when I play it on my computer with WinDVD or my DVDplayer.

3- Lastly the picture quality is not good at all. I encoded several movies varying from 90min - 175min and tried several templates but for some reason picture quality was very bad. I saw lot of noise around images. This happened with MA script or if I use standard bicubic resize in the DVD2SVCD.

I use DVD2SVCD 1.2.1 build2, avisysnth 2.5 which came with DVD2SVCD and plugin DVD2KVCD 2.0.5 beta 3c.

Hopefully someone can help.

Dialhot 11-05-2003 01:24 PM

About Quality, see other threads you opened.

TheDJ 11-06-2003 12:42 PM

Hi Azel,

Same problem with the CQMatic, Says "Please check movie time and /or average.

I also tried by unchecking the CQmatic, and it encoded successfully, but when trying to burn, i got an error message saying "Wrong Parameters".

Where can i get the old versions? they were working fine, 2.0.4 or 5 i think.

Spaceboy 11-06-2003 07:53 PM

Does this plugin only work with TMPGEnc?

azel 11-07-2003 09:01 AM

@TheDJ: I can't help you before I got the DVD2KVCD_log.txt

@Spaceboy: Yes, the plugin is only for TMPGEnc. If you want to do a one pass encoding with CCE, try D2SRoBa. This is a very good and advanced plugin!
