I have encoded a couple of SKVCDīs before, but with another script, far from this one, the picture was thinner than 16:9 when I watched the movies on my TV, thatīs why im very interested in getting this to work.
But when I choose the DivX Filter with the Template SKVCD 480 x 480/576, and choose the avi file and press Go in DVD2SVCD, it comes up with this Error: Code:
The difference between Max. Bitrate and Max. Avg. Bitrate is less than 120.And the program starts. But after a couple of minutes the computer just reboot... Heres the log, where it stops is where the computer restarts... Code:
WNASPI32.DLL 0.0.0.0 |
Go to Bitrate tab in D2S, and change max bitrate to 2500, and max average 2000. That should sort the error.
I dont know wots up with ur audio though. Did u choose headache or normal for audio conversion in dvd2kvcd? If u tried headache, this time try normal. |
I will try the bitrate thing.
In the "old" version of DVD2KVCD I downloaded first, you could choose Normal, but there wasenīt the DivX Filter option in it. The new version has it tho, but no option of choosing between headac3he and normal... When I first tryed headac3he for about a little six month ago, it did exactly the same thing... Seems very strange... |

And this filter can be used either in last or previous D2S version, all is explained in that tread :!: Quote:

Just tried DVD2KVCDlite, but CQMatic pops up with the message "Please check movie time and/or average".
Here's my DVD2KVCDlite log: Code:
=== DVD2KVCD Lite (0.1) === |
Quick "support" question.
On my p4/win2k box the plugin has worked without issue. On my athlon/winXPpro box the plugin runs but never displays the GUI and never gives me an error message, it's icon pops into the tray and then disappears. I've tried the path change (from |:/Program Files/DVD2SVCD to |:/DVD2SVCD) but no change. I've tried all three versions of the plug-in, with no change. My issue is that my 2K box has no DVD-ROM and my XP box does, thus eliminating my ability to rip nice quality SKVCD, like I encoded on my 2K box. Ideas? I looked for some other component I may have not downloaded to get the plugin to work, but I honeslty don't think I missed anything. |
This is weird, i had this problem with 2 difference PC's aswell, but both PC's had XP Pro, and d2s was installed in c:\DVD2SVCD, not PROGRAM FILES! Works ok on 1 PC, and completely different on other PC.
The average/time error isnt adding full length of movie, thats why the error appears. I tried manually adding the length to CQmatic, started to do something, then just stopped. These are the same errors made in dvd2kvcd, no difference. Just dont use the CQmatic, uncheck it in dvd2kvcd, and it works fine. |
CQmatic prediction does not work
When I check CQmatic for prediction, DVD2SVCD crashes when strting to encode with error on line 390 and something about bqck slashes being used improperly, it says also that headac3he not found. I am not using headac3he for audio encoding why does it display that message and crashes.
DVD2KVCD lite version also does not work for me. It does some calculation before the encoding starts but after the encoding finishes it gives me message on headac3he and bach slaches being used improperly on line 390. I love the KVCD template and ease of using it but my problem is that file prediction does not wotrk well in DVD2SVCD, second file comes too large for 80min CD so thats why I am trying to use CQmatic in DVD2KVCD template. By the way I am making 720x480SVCD with MA script. Doees anyone have any idea on what's going on here. Thanks in advance for the help. |
just getting ready to give this program another shot...noticed that there is an MA script for interlaced 4/3 source...what changes need be make for widescreen interlaced sources?
|
Just a compliment...
Ran DVD2KVCD on Rapid Fire. Everything went perfectly. Video was maybe 20 megs undersize, but looked very good (1 disk skvcd). I might try it again as mpeg 1 muxed as svcd just to see the difference between 1 and 2. Still wondering what changes are needed for 16/9 interlaced sources where I want to keep the interlacing. Also read that perm subs won't work with this, is that true? If so, why? I think I'll be using this mostly for TV shows DVD rips with 100% interlacing. Thanks. |
Oh, the above was done with the DVD2SKVCD version found on your webpage...not the DVD2SKVCD2 version found on the first message here.
Is the version with the 2 on the end different? Newer? I couldn't get that version to run correctly. Also, what has to be done to use perm subs correctly? Not srt with divx, just the regular subs DVD2SVCD rips and creates. Thanks again for a great mod to DVD2SVCD. |
Quote:
If yes that is explained in big letters that the script DO NOT WORK WITH PERMSUBS ! If you want some, use regular filters delivered with D2S. Or drop this tool as it is USELESS for making avis ! |
I'm using the scripts that came with DVD2KVCD (and I'm not working with Divx sources so I'm not using the divx script ). It may very well be that I just became confused reading throught the forums...I just needed clarification...Do the non-divx scripts that came with DVD2KVCD work with perm subs? If not, is there an edit that works around it.
I'm asking because I've some Hong Kong DVDs that are 100% interlaced and I want to use the MA script for interlaced sources that comes with DVD2KVCD, but I need perm subs encoded into the mpeg. Thanks for your help. |

Thanks Dialhot, I'll give it a shot over the weekend with one of those HK films and post how it works out.
Just trying the newest version of DVD2KVCD right now with CQMatic...seems to be working alright, but the CQMatic windows stayed open. I don't mind closing it...not a problem...just pointing it out. |

New update:
-DVD2KVCD Lite 0.2 Changes: -A lot of bugs! I'm busy for the moment, so I can't help everybody...:( *** READ THIS: If you need help, DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION of DVD2KVCD (at the moment DVD2KVCD lite v 0.2) and try this version before you post your problem. Then, if you still have problems, post your LOG (DVD2KVCD_log.txt in your DVD2SVCD's working directory). And once again, the pluggin is for DVD -> (K)(S)VCD, and NOT Avi -> (K)(S)VCD. Of course you can try Avi -> (K)(S)VCD, but I strongly don't recomand this, and this can make a lot of trouble for you. I'll will be vrey happy if someone tells me if the plugin works for you, and mayby post your log. If you want subtitles, go to the frameserver tab, edit your avs script, and delete this line: "function ConvertToYUY2(clip c){ return isYV12(c) ? c : convertToYV12(c) }" @Dialhot I know that you are a wise man, and I hope you can take a short look at this plugin. I have used the standard predicion in DVD2SVCD, and some times I'll end up with 700 MB on one 800 MB CD!! I don't think DVD2SVCD will update the prediction for TMPGEnc, so "we" have to do it. |
hey azel!
my first try with v0.2 went almost perfect, the encode was stable, no errors occured and the interface is comfortable and easy to use. so for now, I've noticed only 2 things: 1. every time you choose a kvcd-template, the inis are backuped, so the second time you pick a template you overwrite your standard settings in dvd2svcd_backup_ini with the settings from the last template, so i think you should backup dvd2svcd.ini only once at the first startup. 2. all my encodes with your prog were about 50mb oversized. i located cqmatic as the cause, did a little search on the forums here and found out that kwag recommends to set the minimum bitrate to 57% of the actual average bitrate to avoid probs with tmpgenc's non-linearity during prediction. then i did a prediction and the cq went down by 3. so i think if you can correct this issue, that would be great for the people who have this problem (maybe with a little checkbox in the user interface for the other people who don't have that prob). this weekend i will do a test encode in dvd2svcd with the new cq, but using my standard minimum bitrate and see if the final size fits the wanted size. That would offer the opportunity to let cqmatic do an accurat prediction and then use the normal min bitrate so no space is wasted. i know this would mean a lot of work (I would do this myself but i'm not a programmer unfortunately), so only think about it if you have the time! besides that, i really appreciate your work!! THX greetz, crackhead p.s one more point i just remembered: i would propose to update your ma-script to the latest version available. |
Azel when you gonna start working on new version for avi->kvcd support ? that would be cool 8), I think old 1 is start to show it's age cause I keep on getting files way too big.
gl man and don't give up :D |
DVD2SVCD is absolutly useless for avi.
Doing this by hand with CQMatic always give good results in 3 manual operations (encoding video, encoding audio, muxing). DVD2SVCD has to be used for only one purpose : making DVD. The ripp/subtitle/chapters operations are very painfull to make by hand. THAT is the real and only value of D2S. |
i think it is a great tool to use, especially the early version dvd2svcd where all you had to is put the ini files in the right place and you get a perfect kvcd.
This plugin was gonna be greatest but the file comes out way too big sometimes which is now for me all the time! Azel don't give up dude, with little bit tweaking I think it might be success  |
You forgot that you have to use gripcrop in order to set the KVCDx3 resolution and use overscan, and it is known for having a lot of problems.
You forgot that D2S muxes with bbmpeg that gives file bigger than with tmpgenc (even if according to kwag, this one has problems sometimes, I never saw any) You forgot also (or don't know) that D2S use a "B spoilage" set to 20 and that is not good at all. All that do not make D2S the best tool for making KVCD. |
 Can't forget something I don't know
All that do not make D2S the best tool for making KVCD.[quote] I agree, but it sure doesn't make it the worse, and correct me if I'm wrong(like you won't) but that is why dvd2kvcd plugin was made. To (s)kvcd and dvd-->kvcd a lil easier I don't care what anybody says dvd2kvcd plugin shows great promise and it would be nice(answer to my prayers lol!) if it was further developed(including some avi-->kvcd of course lol!). So azel let us know how it is going dude If you want I test it for ya, I'm very good at f!@king these things up so I should find every bug there is  |
Quote:
Quote:
But the plugin does not bypass the defaults I resumed above. BTW, how would it do that ? They are internal to the program and can't be avoided ! [quote]including some avi-->kvcd of course lol!) Perhaps AZEL do not have time to lost in doing things completly useless. hugh ? |

Dahm, this program was working perfect for me until yesterday..
I havenīt used it for about a month or so, but yesterday I wanted to make a SKVCD, and did exectly what I did all the other times. But this time this happens: Code:
- AUDIO conversionSome times I get TMPGEnc to pop up on the screen for about a split second, and then it comes with a failure, and closes.! I have tried different versions of TMPGEnc now, and they all do the same. You can also see it by the time stamp: 29-01-2004 14:51:09 - Free on drive C: 7399.16 mb - Video Encoding using TMPGEnc Video Encoding finished. -------------------------------------------------------- - 29-01-2004 14:51:31 - Free on drive C: 7399.16 mb - Converting Pictures from ES to PS And then bbMPEG comes with a error: Input file C:\programmer\dvd2svcd\movie\encoded_video_tmpgenc _ntsc was not found With I can understand, since TMPGEnc dosenīt make anyfile at all... Has anybody else had this problem.??? :?: Im totaly lost here... :BangHead: T.I.A. :insight: |
^^ i don't think this prob is caused by the plugin
much more probable is that your avs-script is not working correct. try to open it with a software player, and maybe there's an error message! if not, post it, but i'm pretty sure it's cause of the script and i don't think dvd2kvcd works when it's not placed in dvd2svcd-folder! greetz, Crackhead |
Quote:
Heres the Avs-Script that it creates: Code:
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.5PL\Mpeg2dec\MPEG2D~1.DLL") |
does this proggy work with perm subs?
|
ok so i read all the way through the posts...
its meant ot be easy as 1..2...3... yeh? select kvcd... , choose which kvcd u want... skvcd etc... then wen dvd2svcd loads, just rip n convert, right..? and it should work right? in the faq it says 352x480 will get 120 mins, will it do this automatically? or do i need to fiddle around with it? soz for looking dumb, i have just started on this whole vcd/svcd/cvd/etc.. plz dnt mind... |
It should work but have in mind that a new version of dvd2svcd went out recently and there are perhaps some changes that make the plugin to not work anymore.
Give us the result of your attempts. |
Done it!
i chose the skvcd 528x480 one, with 2 disc, because i wanted good quality! and it did it!
3 hours on 2 discs, 1 hour 30mins each... use a clean install of dvd2svcd, then simply just install this plugin, chose your settings, badaboom badabing... sorted! just rip and convert! leave it for aboout 11 hours for 3 hours movie! Sorted! |

Try to give a little more details on this "somethign about gripcrop" please.
|
Well installed DVD2SVCD and the plug in again to a empty second drive along with TMPGenc, and I now get this message.."avisynth script file avs can not open or unsupported", I have used DVD2SVCD plenty of times with great results using CCE and TMPGenc, just when I use this plugin there seems to be error after error...so Im confused.
Thank you! :D :D |
Quote:
Normally it is declared by DVD2SVCD but I don't know what happen when you install 2 times the product (as it seems you did). |
Sorry about this, moved up the settings as suggested and no go, so formatted my hard drive and installed my older version of DVD2SVD on the drive with the plugin in and TMPGenc and got the red gripcrop error again, details as follows.
Script error, there is no function named " gripcrop" D:\file name,AVS line 4, Looked at the file and gripcrop is indeed line 4, moved the sript to other folders hoping it would find it but no avail, could it be a DLL I need or what? Mant thanks. :? |
For sure : you need all the plugin dll called into your script ! Gripcrop pis only the first one but you will miss all the ones that follow this line :-)
Is it the first time you use a script ? |
