Cannot burn video with m2v extension?

That's what a forum is for. To help me I hope. So please need help. I am one of those Noobs again.

I just tried to encode a bit using template KSVCD 352*576.
First i was just looking for a normal kvcd 352*288 but i have all those
KVCD-CQ or KVCD-LBR.

After that it encode into a m2v extension. Why my nero or vcdeasy can't burn or even read this at dragging and dropping it when i want to burn?

:( :(

kwag 04-10-2004 05:50 PM

Because a .m2v is a video stream only, and doesn't contain audio.
Go to www.kvcd.net and read some of the guides on the right side ;)

Like kwag.

If you don't need audio, I don't know why :D , you put the movie in the MPEG-tools of TMPGEnc and join it in merge & cut and set to Super.VCD(VBR) and press run. Now you can put the Video in VCDEasy oder Nero.

oke, thanks.
i just thought in the guide it says after encoding just burn in nero. I shall read again. If i still can't get it. I will re-ask if you don't mind.

PS. what's the time of encoding a normal movie. is 6-8 hours normal ?

audioslave 04-11-2004 05:22 PM

The encoding all depends on:
1) Which/what filter(s) you use.
2) Your processor (CPU).

I use a PIII-550 and do movies on 544x576 or above with lot's of filters.
My encodings take more than 15hours...
You see it all depends.
GREAT avatar :D

Takkies 04-12-2004 11:29 AM

thanks rds, 15 hours. That all for a movie. Wow. I just found out a simple instruction at dvdrhelp

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/84759.php

Just to make a template. It's easy but is it good ? It works with me but is this the right way ?

Dialhot 04-12-2004 11:33 AM

For sure, don't expect to have good results with this method.

They explain you how to put a movie in VCD res and 1150 MAX video bitrate.
WIth KVCD you can put the same movie in 544*480 with 2300 MAX.

According to you, what is the best ?

Wow you are very patient! :
What is the quality like, must be good?
Would you like to post a short sample here?
http://www.yousendit.com/default.aspx (just input your email then they send you the link-handy for hosting samples and such-100 d/l max.)
I have to see a peice of the 15 hour encode! 8O

Dialhot 04-12-2004 09:52 PM

Quality has NOTHING to do with the encoding time.
I can give you scripts that encode into 24h on a 3.2GHZ P4 with a result even my blind gran'ma will call crap.

lol, but you know what I mean.
I wouldn't expect him to be using a shit script know woould I, Would you?

Takkies 04-13-2004 01:25 AM

I see the point Dialhot. But my problem is time. I really want a good average quality but in short time. All I want is to encode easy to watch movies. Later on I want to buy those movies when the real DVD is getting cheaper. So it's like a preview to watch the whole movie and see if it's oke to be collect in my dvd collection.

You got a link for a template KVCD pal. An easy one with nice quality but also short time.

And is it really better to encode the audio and then mux it with the m1v

Thanks really

Were is your answer smart guy?

Dialhot 04-14-2004 01:23 PM

I really have to answer ? Okay...

I won't never use such a script. But it's because I know how to do scripts, and what to put in them... do you ?

(sorry the the tone but you asked for an answer...)

rds_correia 04-14-2004 02:08 PM

@tickey & Dialhot,
Hi guys,
Don't you go make an argument out of what doesn't even deserve too much attention.
You see, I use Avisynth's 2.5x Optimal Script by Kwag.
And the encoding time I gave you is for a 704x576 SKVCD shooting encode in TMPGEnc.
It's just that with so many things occupying my PC's CPU which BTW is already very outdated,
TMPGEnc doesn't walk: it crawls...
Anyway that's why I'm moving to MEncoder because I am now more interested in KDVD and because
it's way faster than TMPGEnc although it's very hard to tweak it's settings for the time being.
See, no reason for arguing
Cheers

PS-I can't help it: hey Takkies, nniiiiiice avatar
