the energy is gone yesterday for ~6 hours (storm)
and i'm changing the hd from the pc of one of my friends.....
i loose part of the job and have to install lots "inutilities" like:
" off-ice " and drugs like that.
i need compare the pictures but my first impression is that
the Phil pictures are better.... i will do the tests in few hours!

i did the comparisons and the picture aren't so differents.
the 8 pictures that Phil send to me have tiny more bright,only this.

Phil,
i load the first ripped vob in vdubmod to find the frames:
the first picture in PAL is 18354, in NTSC is 15196,
the second in PAL is 25982, in NTSC is 22223!
you send exact what i needed to see:
the bright and dark scenes!
tiny differences in bright and in chroma comparing
your pictures and mine here (but i can be the decoder, right? )
this differences are irrelevants!

i see the bright scenes like the first picture very cool (little "dry")
but the dark scenes too dark with opac colors.

bright scenes are "too bright" and dark scenes "too dark".
in my opinion the balance between luma/chroma isn't good!

resuming: i don't like of the general image quality from lionking3!
it don't means that is a trash but could be better.
