Just to add one extra point that I have said before:
Not everything is available in DVD and many very interesting stuff is not. And some stuff is very hard to have access to, unless you download. A few examples: 1) The complete series "The Wonder Years". Here in Brazil they pass on Satellite TV but the episodes are shown out of order, they don't show all of them, plus you have to have the time to capture end encode everyday (I don't have) 2) The documentary "Brazil Beyond Citizen Kane", that a power media organization forbided in Brazil because it was about them. 3) The Original "American Life" Madonna video, which somehow made a critic to Iraq war. MTV does not show the original version anymore. 4) Some rare beatles musicals. 5) Some musicals, like the Beyonce and Santana performance in superbowl opening, aired in ABC and not anywhereelse. 6) A very rare stanley kubric movie, which was never even on VHS. The list goes on and on. |
it's true V :!:
the problem is the ilegal downloads ...you know what i mean! |
I would completely agree that downloading a copyrighted movie/software it's a crime.
But it's also a crime letting sites have those things for download and not doing anything as usual. I can't understand why the authorities don't act sooner... Even the P2P networks should never have gone so far. NOW and only now they want to stop the world from exchanging information??? I don't understand...what were they doing until now? Downloading??? Cheers |

yes :!: "But it's also a crime letting sites have those things for download and not doing anything as usual." yes :!: "I can't understand why the authorities don't act sooner..." me too but they will soon or later ! this are the points correia, the axis ! 8) kvcd forum don't want and need it and this is some of the reasons, :!: my personal fear is that "something" wrong could be found here.... that downloads scares me. "only" this ! |
Downloading music (and probably other copyrighted material) is legal in Canada right now. This was confirmed in December by the Copyright Board and again in March by Justice von Finckenstein (the judgement itself doesn't seem to be online at the moment but several dozen articles can be had from Google Groups). Strangely enough, uploading copyrighted material is still as illegal as ever, since Canada's current copyright law only allows you to make copies for your own private use, not for anyone else's.
But this doesn't affect me at all... I don't think I've downloaded any illegal-in-other-countries material in quite a few months. Maybe I should be taking advantage of this legal loophole... :-D |
