Wanted: VHS-C camcorder
Does anyone have a VHS-C camcorder for sale?
The tapes I have were recorded on a JVC one if that is relevant. |
I know you now know this, but for the sake of posting (it is an FAQ, after all), the ideal way to convert/play VHS-C is with one of the metal CP7U-type (CP6U, etc) JVC/Panasonic adapters, and in a VCR known to work well with the VHS-C format.
- Lots of VCRs eat those tapes, so you have to be careful. - Lots of plastic VHS-C adapters eat tapes, so be careful. Panasonic AG-1980P and certain JVC Pro SR decks are known to work quite well with VHS-C and S-VHS-C tapes. You actually new really want a VHS-C camera for anything. And now you know. (Yo Joe?) |
I keep a late model JVC SVHS-C camcorder for transfer purposes. The reality is I bought it for the CP7U VHS-C adapter.... which is now sadly broken. Despite the metal exterior, the mechanics are all plastic and somehow they are out of sync.
