Weird horizintal line glitches from Fuji Hi8 tape?
2 Attachment(s)
Hey friends,
I've attached an .avi video sample of glitch / noise / tracking / "digital hits" issue I'm finding with a Hi8 tape I am trying to digitize. The tape is a Fuji Hi8 MP P6-120 shot in 1996. 2 hr runtime. Workflow is, TRV615 > ES10 > TBC 1000 > Hauppauge USB Live 2 > VDub. (All S-Video cables) I've tried playing the tape back on other Sony camcorder as well as a Teac V-800G-F deck with the same results. I'm curious if any of you have come across this before and if there is a way to circumvent the playback issue. Could it be just the tape itself? Thank you! P.S. Also attached is a deinterlaced version with QTGMC, so you can see how it looks in progressive. |
It's tape drop outs. Why ES15 and TBC1000 in the same workflow?

I suspect tape dropout ass well.
Your captured audio is weird (VBR?). ES15 and TBC1000 in the same workflow maybe because his cam has no lineTBC |

DVD recorder can insert/duplicate frame itself, so, frame TBC placed after could be useless? |

I've never had any problem running the output of DMR-ES15 directly into my capture devices. Its generated VSync/HSync signals are always nice and clean. It does re-insert Macrovision when it's detected in the source, but I've yet to find it incorrectly adding MV to a home recording. |
