Hey, a fellow TEAC owner! I've got a question for you: how does your Video Level meter on the front panel work?
Mine is always on "LO". Never the middle arrow, never "HI". Can't find a user's manual, so I dunno what it's really supposed to indicate.

If I'm reading correctly, sanlyn had to include the TBC-1000 because the ES10 would sometimes interpret dirty sync signals from VHS as copy protection and cause his capture card to choke.
I've never had any problem running the output of DMR-ES15 directly into my capture devices. Its generated VSync/HSync signals are always nice and clean. It does re-insert Macrovision when it's detected in the source, but I've yet to find it incorrectly adding MV to a home recording.
