Sony EV S9000E disable on-screen display?
I use the Sony EV S9000E vcr for capturing Hi 8 and 8mm tapes, however I want to ensure that the on screen display is completely turned off as I don't want generated writing coming out on the capture. There is a "Display" button that turns off certain things but the problem is I still find certain writing flashing up on the screen. E.g. 'SP' or 'LP' still show if there is a change of speed and also 'STEREO' sometimes comes up. This is no use to me atall as I can't have this in the capture, why does this still happen when I have on screen display turned off and therefore how do I stop this from happening?

I believe the EV-S9000E is the PAL version of the EV-S7000. To disable the annoying on screen "STEREO" you have to place the VTR in edit mode (press the "EDIT" button on the powered pull-out drawer).
IIRC you have to do this every time you power on the machine. |
That's great, thank you. Tried that and it has worked.
