JVC HR S7500 will play, but eject doom loop!

Hi all

My JVC HR S7500 has started to act up.

It plays fine (recently popped in a new loading belt. The unit is DD otherwise with cams for FFS and rwd.

However, after pressing eject, the machine will eject the tape then immediately take it back in again in a continual loop
If I remove the tape the machine still tries to load and of course jams as the tape tabs are not moved out of the way.

I have attached a link to a video to show this.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...fA1BdMZilBf-ld

Any ideas? There does not seem to be a loading sensor but the machine does have a
Rotary Encoder. Maybe that's faulty?

Many thanks

PAL or NTSC? Vast difference.

Your Google Drive link gives "you need access" error -- which is why hotlinking is a PITA. Either attach a clip to the forum, or add an unlisted Youtube video.

Could be mode switch needs cleaning or one of the IR sensors that determine when a tape is being inserted. If it think's you just put in a tape, or doesn't fully eject, it can want to take it right back in as though a new tape was inserted.

Hi. Sorry about that. It's too big to attach. I have created an unlisted video on YouTube. How do I edit the original post with the extra info? Thanks
