Hauppauge Colossus 2 H264 compression good?

I have been reading the post about
http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/vid...rd-capture.htm
and was wondering if anyone already mentioned the Hauppauge Colossus 2 capture card.
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/produ...ght=colossus+2

It uses the H264 compression hardware in 1080 resolution, so I think it will be a good addition to the list..

Are there any negative sides to this compression?

Greetings

Traveller.

PS where can I put these kind of questions in the form?

No, H264 should never be used as the capture format. It's too compressed, not a capture format, lots of issues. Final encode (delivery) format only.
