How does AmarecTV fight off audio skew where VirtualDub does not?
How is the AmarecTV capture software is able to yield synchronized video. I know it is inserting and dropping frames here and there. I think most people miss these if they blink. But they don't miss when the audio and video is out of sync.
1. Is there is a way in AmarecTV to see how many frames were inserted or dropped? 2. What settings in the timings screen in VirtualDub 1.9.11 would mimic the way AmarecTV prioritizes audio-video sync above all else? I know that LS said: "DO NOT disable frame drops/inserts. All that accomplishes is essentially disabling drop reporting, and prevent inserts to fight off audio skew." But how come VirtualDub doesn't see to fight off audio skew as well as AmarecTV? What could be going on? |

You can also spot them with VDub: on the Go menu, "Next" or "Prev" dropped frame. |
