I sometimes see posts on other sites (Reddit, wherever), or hear stories from the local shelter, where a person with a bubbly personality (the do-gooder type) proclaims they want to adopt a cat (or dog) with health problems. It's not hard to quickly see they have zero experience with what that will entail. The time, the costs, the heartbreak (especially the 1st time you experience it). We (the other people, not me) have to ask them: "Are you sure you want to do this? Are you prepared for everything this will take? Do you have the time, the money? And are you prepared for bad outcomes?" (Thankfully, the shelter requires proof, and thus often denies the requests, as the pet would just be given back, or be put in danger.)

Not to be flippant, but video capture can be similar. This is why I sometimes halt conversations, and ask "Are you sure you know what you're getting into?" and/or warn about proceeding.

So, with that, I just wanted to share a quick quote from the other thread:

Alrighty then. We shall proceed. :congrats:

To asdd to an older issue

Another issue with the ADVC-110 is power supply. Although it can be powered bu IEEE1394 (firewire) many firewire ports lack sufficient power output capability to reliably power the ADVC-110. In that case a wall ward power source is indicated.
