Could anyone grade my capture?

I did 1 minute fragment then i converted from avi to mp4 (also from pcm to aac)
My VCR: Samsung SV-DVD 645p Capture Device: Pinnacle Dazzle DVC 100 Color System: MESECAM (Not be confused SECAM) The source and deinterlaced result are there |
* flagging on top (no tbc obviously)
* red/pink vertical bar on the right (typical of secam and variants) -> can be removed * deinterlacing seem ok (hard to tell with that kind of footage though) It's an average rating of 5/10.... and i feel generous today |

Later I would share more short captures, the deinterlacer was QTGMC with custom settings Quote:
Edit: I used Hybrid to Deinterlace I hope it have a grey filter on there |
The Luma clips too. It looks like it might me pretty visually noisy when I see the very end of the clip but the rest of it clips in the brights to where you can’t see much of anything including noise. Even if you didn’t mess with any of that I would get rid of that high pitch squealing sound in an audio editor. That sound is annoying I think.

Why not direct stream copy with virtualdub and upload a losslessly compressed codec like Huffy here? I can't really play these back in Virtualdub or check the levels in Pmod. I can't get the WAV file from it with Virtualdub.
I am not good with Audio either. Timtape and a few others are the good people with audio. This isn't hard to improve though. I just use Audacity but there are definitely better editing programs. I took the audio from your video using VLC and converted it to FLAC then brought that into Audacity. I looked at the spectogram and used the filter curve effect to take off everything over 7,000hz because your good audio was under that and the high frequency noises were above that. Then I used the part with just noise at the end of your clip to get a noise profile that I could use for noise reduction on the entire clip. Then I normalized the peak audio to around -6db. Then Exported it as a WAV file. Not perfect but it sounds better. |

Your capture is pretty bad. Maybe a 2 or a 3. There is a lot of room for improvement with your gear.

New capture!
Now i captured Le miracle de l'amour in ORT (ОРТ), yep MESECAM once again... But i made some improvements. Im so sad bc this is isnt a true SECAM (although they are SO RARE even HiFi recordings isnt rare) |
Why are you capturing to H.264 in an AVI container? It's better for editing later to capture to a losslessly compressed codec. Your Luma is clipping again.

And we set to 6600k bitrate for nice capturing but if i use any LOSSLESS codecs it mean that i will say farewell to my disk space Edit: Maybe i should to make a lower brightness to get rid of Luma clipping EditNO2: I think i found resolution! EditNO3: 432MB for 47 sec!? Jeez... thats why i use h264 |
Disk space is really cheap. Just capture to an old 5400 or 7200 RPM HDD. It would be a lot better if you would capture losslessly compressed codec and filter in Selur’s Hybrid. Your footage would benefit a lot from filters because it is very noisy. That noise is messing with your H.264 lossy compression off the bat. Lossless would capture everything and let you deal with it in software then do a lossy compression. I think a lot of the noise is from your gear being low end but I don’t know that.

and i need to compress to other codec. And yep im using Hybrid but idk what setting i should aprove, and after in hybrid i will compress to X264. I will send examples of Lagarith then converted to X264 then only x264 |
