If you use composite cable anywhere in your chain, you might need to start using S-Video connection.

Unfortunately, i could not have an access to perform this (SCART ADAPTORS arent count)
And they are ruining the capture quality

Actually, SCART adapter would not be that bad. I'm talking about a dongle which has male connector to SCART to connect to your VCR socket and female socket to plug in your S-video cable.
Assuming, of course, your VCR support S-Video over SCART.
Also, it doesn't guarantee it will solve the problem. Dot-crawl might be already recorded on your tape.

Double check your setting for your SCART in VCR set to S-Video, not just Video.
Btw, all your attached png files give me empty white rectangle.

Jeez... this is cuz amarec is giving me .bmp not png...
And how i could check this at my Samsung SV-DVD 645P?

I'm not familiar with that device, but usually you call the menu and browse it.
Look for connections, input/output settings. They might call it AV1, AV2 etc.
By default this setting is set for Video. It means your luma wire of S-Video connector gets a mixture of luma and chroma (composite signal) and you chroma wire gets chroma. I've seen that before. Dot-crawl is given in that scenario.

That's not needed.
Put the images in a .7z or .zip file, attach that here.

Don't you have S-Video jack on the back of your SV-DVD645P?

I have only for DVD output

mts1 04-20-2026 02:20 PM

Have you tried playing VCR and connecting S-Video?
Anyways, the setting for the SCART from your menu:
DVD -> Display Setup -> DVD Out -> S-Video.
Something tells me if you can get S-Video from the SCART, you should have in from S-Video jack too.
Good luck!

You mean I need to connect to SVideo Jack instead of SCART?
