Use Medion Media PC for TV tuner, capturing?
Hello
I have got hold of an old Medion Media Pc. It has two interesting cards inside. 1. TV-tuner Card with Phlips SAA7131E chipset http://www.creatix.de/produkte/multi...cification.pdf It has only two connectors, one that looks like a composite ( called TV-Ant ) and one that looks like a sattellite connection (DVB-S) 2. Graphichs Card, NVidia GeForce 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-Series with a lot of connectors, DVI, HDMI, S-VHS, Scart and 4 x round connecters (component?) Can I use them for anything related to capturing from VHS? Right now I use Pinnacle software and Hauppauge USB LIVE 2 external capture device. Pictures here https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...hint=folder%2c I do not know if the pc itself works (maybe just the harddrive is defect), but if it does there is also a front connector plate connected to the mainboard with Firewire and SVS and 2xcomposite sound and composit tv (yellow) Can this pc or the parts ( in anonther pc ) be used for anything reg. capturing from VHS or via Firewire from Mini-DV? Best Regards J. Nielsen |
Why wouldn't you be able to..? Just connect the VCR to the S-Video or composite input of the front panel. It looks like that is connected internally to the Philips card.
Haven't bothered to look whether this is capable of lossless. |
Will it work? Perhaps.
We'd need to see some capture samples. Are you sure if it even turns on? And not infected with malware? |
