How do I remove this noise from my capture?

I am trying to use the instructions on this page, http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/vid...soundforge.htm , but I don't know what category the noise in my capture is.

Is there anyway to fix this noise which is from the part where the TBC shows the NTSC colors. It is present throughout the whole audio files, and I didn't notice it. I captured about 4 tapes.

I have Sound Forge Audio Studio 10.0 and Audacity.

If you play the file turn down the volume because it is very harsh.

This is a relatively easy clip to fix. Can I hear some of the audio? Because while I can remove noise, I don't want to overdo the filter where it starts to harm the audio. Attach that, and I'll get back to you.

Thanks. :)

I hope this is enough of a sample. Also, none of the tapes have music just voice.

I used Audacity for this. It can be a better tool for this exact error. Best of all, it's freeware.

I took a noise profile from the noise clip, which is what you want to do -- save a small noise-only clip.
Then File > Open the other clip that you want to filter. It must be File > Open, don't drag and drop! Here, it was kid talking.
I ran the filter at 18 strength, and left everything else default.
In Sound Forge, normalize. And repeat in Audacity if needed.
There's still some buzz/hum left because your noise print was not 100% (1:1) to the audio clip used

Got that? :)

This was an easy one, even when one handed!

Thanks LS, it sounds awesome! I don't hear anymore noise in the fixed samples. I will try this out after work today.
