AV to S-Video Output - Any loss of quality?
 

So basically, I am wondering If I have A/V cables plugged into my TBC, and my TBC outputting S-VIDEO... Is there any loss of quality during that process? :question:

VCR--A/V-->TBC---S-VIDEO---->Capture card

That would be fake s-video (recreated by the tbc), not sure how good that would look (probably so-so)

Here is a sample screenshot, It has harsh DNR from the DMR-ES15 because I haven't turned it off yet.

It would still look better than composite in - composite out, Having the DVD outputs S-Video gets rid of the second stage loss if the signal is converted back to composite.

Typically, I think you'd always want to use the highest bandwidth output from your TBC which should go in this order of priority depending on your model assuming your capture card supports it. Note, the "recommended" TBC's won't have anything above S-Video:

1. SDI/HDMI (which is a type of digital component output)
2. Component Video
3. S-Video
4. Composite

In your case, I'd use S-Video from the ES15.

My TBC is being outputted with S-VIDEO, My VCR is inputting composite. I was wondering if the VCR input composite loses quality when being outputted through the TBC S-video. Confusing? Yes, this is the best way I can probably explain it

Yes, but the signal isn't being converted back to composite. Its being outputted through S-VIDEO.
