Is there anyway anyone could write a step by step "guide" on how to get this working for a KDVD,i am reading the .txt file right now but i get lost to easy :D
Also when you select the avs you get this Code:
#------------------ A simple step by step instructions would be great for some of us just to get it going thanx |
You asked it in this same thread the 31 of july and Sansgrip already answered to you there :
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....r=asc&start=64 :-) The filters for the script has to be added in the options of DVD-RB, not directly in the AVS : Option -> Avs option -> Advanced Option -> Filter Editor. Just put "Undot().Deen()" or "RemoveGrain().Removedirt()". |
Thanx Phil i know i asked but this new version is different thats why i asked :D
ALso where do i put that line in the script Just put "Undot().Deen()" or "RemoveGrain().Removedirt()". thanx |
OK these are the two things that i need help with
first i need help with the post above and need to know where to put the undot line in the above script Second - i know how to link the vob's but let say you have the main movie and then a few other things are you supposed to do the (kvcd notch matrix and the avs script on all of them or just the movie thanx |

For your second question the answer is so simple : you need to do that anywhere you want the matrix to be used ! Why doing it only on movie ? |
I already figured it out but

Phil i was confused becsaue in dvdrebuilder(like you said)you have to set in options which i did but you can select which line # you want it to go.I did that but i didn't know until i tried that it actually puts it in the correct place edit:I think where the confusion for me is comming from is i am talking about the avs options in RB-OPT and not dvd rebuilder ANyway like i said i got it all figured out and it worked great :D |
okay guys, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to DVD-RB, and am trying to get myself prepared to give it a try! Just downloaded Sansgrips RB-Optv 0.13, which from what I gather will give me more control of my .avs files like I'm so used to now with CCE alone. Once I get the chance I'll go through all 13 pages of this thread!
Just two questions tho. Has anyone tried RB-Optv with DVD-RB 0.61, just released on Sept 20? The readme says it supposed 0.4x to 0.5x... Secondly, is it possible to rip the movie in DVD Shrink instead of DVD Decryptor, so I can deselect the audio and subtitle streams I don't want? I would of course be doing this in Full Movie mode to preserve menus, instead of Reathor mode. Thanks! |
Hey J-Wo,
there is a new version of RB-Opt available (0.15 beta). Also, I would rip the full disc to your drive and let DVD-RB remove the unwanted audio/sub titles, etc. That way DVD-RB knows exactly what is happening, cheers, |
Despite Rhino advice, you should use DVDShrink to perform that.
DVDShrink is a stable application where DVD-RB has several bugs leading to a new version coming out each couple of days ! (I DLed the 0.60 Monday, the 0.60x yesterday and now there is a 0.61 ???) DVD-RB doesn't have any problem to handle DVD outputed by DVDShrink. |
Good to know Dialhot. I scoured the Doom9 forum but surprisingly no one else asked it! And I only got one reply, similar to rhino's. In other words they said no but no one was absolutely sure on that!
So I jsut gave DVD-RB and RB-Opt a whirl last night and am quite impressed by how simple and FAST it was to use! Just wondering, where are you guys adding your AVS lines? In DVD-RB under Options -> AVS -> Filter Editor or manually for each VOB in RB-Opt? Also it is ok to add resizing filters right? I mean just a simple crop line, filtering, and then addborders. I'm changing the res to 704x480. Finally has anyone had problems with certain filters and DVD-RB? I thought I read somewhere about how it didn't like removegrain or removedirt... Just want to make sure. Thanks! |

I told I put taht in DVD-RB directly but I used the pre-betas release that sansgrip did on RB-OPT 0.11. According to what you are saying J-Wo, I guess that with now official 0.13(or 0.15), you have to put in into RB-OPT for each vobs. I appology. Quote:

(and more : it gives memory problem to CCE if you put some parameters between the parenthesis). |

Code:
crop(24,20,-24,-20) NOW all I have to decide is whether I prefer the CCE Standard matrix at the suggested settings of 0-7200 kbps, or use notch matrix at 64-4500 kbps. I've been using notch for ever now but several people are reporting Standard is better now that we are in DVD land and have 4.5gb space to deal with! Ohhh the choices... comments, suggestions, anyone? |

With "Notch" matrix, you get close to 20% more compression/space savings, with NO visual difference in quality in average and high bitrates, and BETTER quality on dark/gray low lit scenes, compared to standard MPEG matrixes. It's your choice ;) -kwag |

I've just started using this program, and at first I was very confused on how to deal with my telecined material. I've since learned to not add any fielddeinterlace or other such lines, and to just leave the combed frames in because DVD-RB reconstructs the original DVD flags, blah blah blah (I don't understand half of what I'm saying actually!). I guess that went against all I'd learned in this forum, which was to use Decomb or other such filters on telecined material to bring it back to 23.976 fps, thus saving space and inreasing quality. But it's my understanding this is not possible with DVD-RB. And doing any sort of deinterlacing is useless.... Is this all correct? |
hi all...
tried RB-Opt today, and can't get it to work... whenever I click on predict I get an error message from CCE (2.67 SP) "Invalid File Name" and after that "Cannot Open ECL File"... Where does RB-Opt/Rebuilder ask for the path for ECLCCE? |
Be carreful to correctly choose CCE SP in the menu and not CCE Basic. And give the path for eclcee in the place where it asks the path co ccesp.exe
|
jelly: in rb-opt it's under GLobal Options. In DVD-RB it's under Options --> Setup. In both cases you want to point to EclCCE.exe. Since you are using 2.67 SP, make sure you put the path in the correct line: for you that is CCE SP (New)
|
Ok, i can't find that under settings in DVD-RB... It asks me for the path of CCE SP (new). I have version SP 2.67 so that would be the option for me.
Are you telling me i need to point it to ECLCCE.exe and not to CCESPT.exe? Because DVDRebuilder does not ask for the path of ECLCCE but for my CCE path... Other than that, I got 2 questions. #1: Why doesn't QuEnc support the Notch Matrix anymore, but replaced it with some own Low Bitrate Matrix?? #2: Can I use FreeEnc with DVDRebuilder instead of QuEnc? edit: Here's my new error message phil... this time I am 100% postive that I checked CCE SP (new) in DVD-RB... However when I start prediciton in RB-Opt, it says "C:\myPath\VTS_02_VOBID_01.ecl is not an ECL for CCE SP" |

But you have also to select "CCE SP" in the options (under CCE Options). Quote:
