Problem muxing original AC3 stream with m2v/mpv?

Hi all
As title of topic I hape problem with muxing mpeg2 stream with AC3 sound track ripped from DVD .
MPV string from CCE 2.66 and AC3 sound stream demuxed from VOB's with DVD2avi 1.77 .
Mux with bbMPEG as DVD compatible mpg file .
When I'm trying to compile DVD project with DVDlab program closes without any error . :( :(
I'm probably doing something wrong but can't get where is the prob ?
Please help with muxing of orig. sound track !!!

You don't need to mux these file using bbmpeg before! As all DVD authoring Tools do that for you ..... maybe thats the reason for your issue?!

Maybe but this way I wanted to ensure perfect a/v sinc :(

In DVDlab you also can alter the sync by adjusting the ac3 delay, so everything you need is present in DVDlab settings

I'll try that for sure problem is that u have to compile whole project to check presence of sinc prob if there's any .

Ok!
I tryed this too ( I didn't counted how many times already )
Load 23.976fps MPEG2 stream to DVDlab
Load 448Kbps AC3 sound track demuxed from DVD with DVD2AVI 1.77
Imported orig. chapters from DVD
Added scene selection
Compile DVD project
DVDLab demands to do pulldown on MPEG2 stream => OK
After that muxing without any error messages !!!
After while project is compiled and done .

WinDVD playes video perfectly but without sound .
PowerDVD playes vobs perfectly but no sound too.
According DVD folder size VOB's didn't got sount track .
Demuxing of sound with DVD2avi doesn't give any sound file at all .
Conclusion - DVDlab didn't muxed MPEG2 stream from CCE 2.66 with original AC3 387mb sound track .
If I convert AC3 to MP2 (even 320Kbps) then muxing is fine and DVD is with perfect !!! quality .
I'm willing not to do this conversion cos want to preserve 5.1 channel info in sound track and as I know MP2 doesn't do that (correct me if I'm wrong).
What I'm doing wrong :?: :?: :?:
Any help !!!

just the other day I have made a test:

I have tried to muxed in dvdlab with audio ac3 extracted from dvd2avi. The plan comes compiled correctly, but when I open the vob with POwerdvd, the movie one comes reproduced a lot slowly and in jerks, and the computer slows down me remarkablly.

Then I have tried to use Ac3machine that is the GUI of besweet and have did the audio from 448kbps to 384kbps (if you want you can leave it 448).
In this way I have ri-compiled the plan and poverdvd reproduces it perfectly.
Probably it must be some incompatible between the audio extracted from Dvd2avi and dvdlab.

p.s. you can say to me like to do import orig. chapters from DVD .
It's possible to import also the menù for entire?

Import menus to dvdlab It's cool idea but u have to remember that most times menus come with 3 or maybe 4 options . What I'm using is just 2 of them : Play movie and Scene selection . I don't need and care for special effects or some other bonus stuff they add to DVD .
For them I can produce second Disk. For my projects I use ~4000mb for video and 200-300mb for audio . So I don't have much space and to say honestly I don't need another stuff on my DVD's .
That's on u if u would waste space for whole bunch of unneeded material .
So if u still want to use original menus too just copy your DVD's with appropriate program , one that can make exect copy of original - if orig. disk have double layer and double space than just split it on two disk's with original menus and chapters in it .
Sorry for long answer , I hope it helps even a little .

my question is:
you can say to me like to do import orig. chapters from DVD in order to
make Kdvd? (if it's possible)

Use the software "Chapter Xtractor".

bman 03-25-2004 06:03 AM

It's simpler than u think :
I'm not sure (I'm not at home and don't have DVDlab here) :) :) but try This :
Point on MOVIE# in DVDlab and go to menu on main menu .
Then with "Import chapters" , load ifo file of your dvd .
U have all needed times and info in there and all chapters will be inserted automatically by DVDlab .
Thats all!
If this doesnt work than download ChapterExtractor from web .
Extract chapters and save them as text file .
Then import them (as above ) to your MOVIE# in DVDlab .

Don't be sorry, I didn't know that DVDLab can handle directly the ifo :-)

@ zagor
Tryed AC3fix GUI - Loaded source original Ac3 file ,destination ,process and nothing - GUI doesn't do nothing ( AC3fix and GUI are in the same folder )
Rencoded Orig AC3 file with AC3machine - DVDlab can't handle it too .
Loaded MPEG2 stream fith Original AC3 file to TMPG DVD author - Perfect vobs in ~15minutes .
Can Play them with winDVD and PowerDVD too .
So what is the problem with DVDlab ???
Is it problem only for me or for others too :?: :?: :?:
Please help - I won't abandon DVDlab just because of this silly problem .

Any help :!: :!: :!:

Just to be sure bman, did you drag the ac3 stream on the movie tag line ? Because it is not done automatically

BTW, you can also mux the audio and video into a vob using Ifoedit and ask to dvdlab to work with this vob without demuxing it.

hugh....

... dont take that bad but....

...mmm....

Yes you have to :-)

Note for Zagor and Jorel that quoted this just above : I tested yesterday and Dvdlab DO NOT TAKE IFOs in the "import chapter" menu; he wants text files (.txt or .chp).
