Kwag, correct me If i am loosing quality with these filters.

LoadPlugin("D:\DVD2AVI186\\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\mpeg\baghat singh\bagath.d2v")

LoadPlugin("D:\DVD2AVI186\decomb.dll")
Telecide(reverse=false,swap=false,firstlast=false, post=true,threshold=15,dthreshold=9,blend=true,chr oma=false,y0=0,y1=0)
Decimate(cycle=5,mode=0,threshold=0)

BilinearResize(496,448,0,2,704,476)
#TemporalSmoother(2,2)
AddBorders(24,16,24,16)

Use the script ONLY if your source is telecined. If your DVD is FILM, you only need to set "Force FILM" in DVD2AVI and you don't neet the Telecide and Decimate lines.

I'd use the script like this:

LoadPlugin("D:\DVD2AVI186\\mpeg2dec.dll")
LoadPlugin("D:\DVD2AVI186\decomb.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\mpeg\baghat singh\bagath.d2v")
Telecide()
Decimate()
BilinearResize(496,448,0,2,704,476)
#TemporalSmoother(2,2)
AddBorders(24,16,24,16)

The parameters you gave on the Telecide and Decimate, are the default, by using them as above. But load your dll's on the first line. And you're not loosing quality at all. All this does is reconstruct back to the original frame rate.

Success with KVCDx3 and Apex 1500

I started a topic about this before I saw this thread, so I'll post a short version of the same note here!

By changing the resoltion from 528x480 to 544x480, I got the template to work without a hitch. I just burnt the results as a non-compliant VCD - there was no need to demux/mux as an SVCD.

Note I was also working at 29.97 fps since my source was a TV show...

hi, i've got a philips 951 firmware 8.11 (latest update) and I tried to playback some templates on it - most didn't work. the 'old' kvcd with svcd-res and 65 % quality worked on it VERY well - better than ordinary svcd I should say. i'm gonna try the two x3 templates one more time and write my experiences in here.
ps: do you think a PAL dvd player can playback NTSC?

:D it worked! i tried with mpeg1, muxed it to svcd and burned it as nonstandard-svcd with nero. i'll also try with mpeg2...

also worked with mpeg2! you can add philips 951 to your x3-compability list :wink: . and how far can i go in lowering the quality-setting? if i want to rip LOTR on 2 cds - will that work?
ps: is it normal that i can't burn 2 files on a cd and then jump from one file to another? my philips gets stuck if i try that
