can u resize the video :?:

for eg.. 720x480 -> 528x480, by editing the aviscript

would this work?

(btw my dvd player handles 528x480. thts why i m asking.. also to see how far we can stretch the flexibility of this tool... )

The only think I see that can prevent this to work is that the IFO reference the resolution of the video in the VOB and they will be unaligned with the real resolution encoded. But else, yes, you can change the res with the script.

I'm currently starting a test for this new RBOpt so I read your post carefully just now. Some comments.

And in Advanced Option :
- use "Filter Editor" and put "Undot().Deen()" in the edit window.
- use "Idct=7" is a WAY faster !
- aboslutly use the "Disable deinterlace" option ANYTIME !
Else DVD-RB will trust DVD2AVI to find if a movie if interlaced or not and you know that it is very often wrong ! Almost all my PAL DVDs are progressive but detected as interlaced by dvd2avi :-(

With this option you can force the deinterlace only on Ids you need it. But for taht you must first laod the sourcen and then come into this advanced option.

Dialhot 08-01-2004 12:32 PM

Okay, result of my first attempt: does not work :-(

First little bug: the prog complain about a "prediction" folder in the temp directory that was not there. I created by hand -> okay.

Second : EclCCE is blocked and does not load any ecl file :-(. It is currently using 73% of my CPU and nothing happens

-> the ecl file generated seems to be the guilty. I'm looking at it.

EDIT: okay, that was that. In fact the custum matrix I used had a line starting with "space+tab" insteed of "tab" and eclcce didn't unsderstood the file anymore :x

Zyphon 08-03-2004 03:46 PM

@Phil or SansGrip

Forgive my ignorance here guys but with regards to the KVCD notch matrix.

When selecting Custom Matrix in Sans RB-Opt do I need to make a txt file of the Intra & Non-Intra Notch Matrix?

EDIT: Would someone be kind enough to inform me of what format I should make the .txt for the Notch Matrix. Thanks in advance. :)

I was going to mention that when i had the Notch Matrix not perfect i was having the same problem but since you told me about it i didn't think it was the same problem :D

Hi Zyphon

Code:

        8 9 12 22 26 27 29 34
        9 10 14 26 27 29 34 37
        12 14 18 27 29 34 37 38
        22 26 27 31 36 37 38 40
        26 27 29 36 39 38 40 48
        27 29 34 37 38 40 48 58
        29 34 37 38 40 48 58 69
        34 37 38 40 48 58 69 79
        16 18 20 22 24 26 28 30
        18 20 22 24 26 28 30 32
        20 22 24 26 28 30 32 34
        22 24 26 30 32 32 34 36
        24 26 28 32 34 34 36 38
        26 28 30 32 34 36 38 40
        28 30 32 34 36 38 42 42
        30 32 34 36 38 40 42 44

Make sure you hit the tab in front of every line and save as .txt(Phil actually posted this on the previous page  )

is this what you want

Zyphon 08-03-2004 04:30 PM

Thanks bigggt It's just that I had a txt with the matrix like this:
Code:

Intra:
        8 9 12 22 26 27 29 34
        9 10 14 26 27 29 34 37
        12 14 18 27 29 34 37 38
        22 26 27 31 36 37 38 40
        26 27 29 36 39 38 40 48
        27 29 34 37 38 40 48 58
        29 34 37 38 40 48 58 69
        34 37 38 40 48 58 69 79
NonIntra:
        16 18 20 22 24 26 28 30
        18 20 22 24 26 28 30 32
        20 22 24 26 28 30 32 34
        22 24 26 30 32 32 34 36
        24 26 28 32 34 34 36 38
        26 28 30 32 34 36 38 40
        28 30 32 34 36 38 42 42
        30 32 34 36 38 40 42 44

Thanks to you (and Phil for posting it first which I didn't see  )it is now clear to me I dont need to leave a space in a paragraph for the Intra and Non-Intra. :D

I already had added the tabs but thanks for reminding me of that. :D

bigggt 08-03-2004 04:33 PM

No problem

I forgot the tab(even though i was told) and couldn't figure it for awhile until i re read the posts :D

Zyphon 08-03-2004 04:50 PM

Yeah it's an easy thing to forget. :D

Thanks again for helping me out on this one, now I can do some tests and back up some of my DVD's

bigggt 08-04-2004 07:09 AM

HI Guys trying to do a backup of hybrid series dvd but ran into a problem i get this error message

Code:

cce encoding failed:OPV VBV OVF frame #43910:00:18:09)I 60212 max 5984259 rel 360.41.01 qsv 28.88-.28.88
First does anyone know what this means

Second if i hit OK it continues the encode>will it be OK

thanx

Dialhot 08-04-2004 07:24 AM

AS long as I can understand the message, a frame is giving problems.

Either the source is corrupted (but it's a DVD ripp ? So I should be okay), or youjust fall on a bug in the code of CCE.
I guess that it will be okay but you will probably suffer a image distort or a frame loss at this particular point of your video (min 18:09 in the movie).

Boulder 08-04-2004 07:29 AM

Sometimes CCE gives such errors when a buffer under/overflow occurs. However, whenever I've had those errors, the encoding has not continued, the program just stopped right there.

bigggt 08-04-2004 07:39 AM

thanx guys ,i guess i will just continue and see what happens :D
reading over at doom9 dvd rebuilder seems to produce a lot of errors

I'm looking for this info since a long time. So making a KDVD with 2 audio tracks and a subtitle track is possible with DVDauthorGui ? Which subtitle format is supported ?

i was searching something like this a long time Phil and only yesterday dragongodz(doom9 new QuENC develper) tell me about it:
Features of DVDAuthorGUI include:
multiple titles (pgcs)
multiple titleset menus (still and motion)
m2v still creation
chapters
subtitles
multiple audio streams <--- ( up to 8 ) 8)
basic navigation commands
iso creation

and the read-me: http://users.adelphia.net/~liquid64/readme.html

I missed this part when I read the readme some times ago. Thank you.

I will try the tool and tell what I think about it.

Zyphon 08-04-2004 10:55 AM

Thanks jorel for the link to the DVDAuthorGUI it looks pretty good. :D

I have downloaded it and the demo and shall mess around with it. :)

Thanks again. :)

A quick try and you will probably be a lot disapointed : doing a menu with this will be very touchy ! You have to create a still picture, then import bitmap buttons and indicate the coordinates of the "hotspot" for that button... But I guess that DVD Menu Author will be easy to use for that.

jorel 08-04-2004 01:08 PM

what about titlewriter? do you know?
Revisions:
Added support for menus created for VTS_02 ->-> VTS_nn
Added commandline support.
2 New MenuTemplates
Episodic (4 Titlesets,chapters on each,audio)
Compilatiion (10 Titlesets,audio)
The Add Original Menus checkbox doesn't do anything in this release.

@Phil
Your proberbly right there Phil. :D

@jorel

Thanks for links to those othe tools. :)

bigggt 08-04-2004 04:40 PM

Just wanted to say that i did my first dvd backup with dvd rebuilder and Sansgrip's version of RB-OPT and all i can say is WOW.

The earlier error i reported didn't seem to effect anything and it was a little undersized(4.03 gb) but the picture is just as good as the original

The only thing that when i hit the next chapter arrow it throws the sound out of sync.

BTW this is An Episode dvd which is also a hybrid of ntsc and ntsc film, haven't watched the whole thing but so far all is good

edit-After watching most of the dvd it does seem to go out of sync ever so slightly

audioslave 08-04-2004 06:21 PM

Does anyone have a download link to DVD Rebuilder? The Doom9 forum is down...
And to all other tools, please, for this (apparently) excellent way of making KDVDs :D

bigggt 08-04-2004 06:33 PM

Hi Audioslave

I just googled for ya and found this so if there is a virus or anything its not my fault :D

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVD_Rebuilder.htm

that is dvd rebuilder

and Sansgrip's tool is on page 4 of this thread

audioslave 08-04-2004 06:41 PM

Thanks a lot!
:D

bigggt 08-04-2004 07:23 PM

Your Welcome :D

TBO 08-05-2004 02:02 PM

so does this work if you want to make a Kdvd around 1.6gb with menus and subs?

/Tbo

DVD-RB doesn't use DVD2AVI, it just generates a DVD2AVI-compatible D2V file for Mpeg2Dec to read. The generated D2V file uses "top field first, no repeat first field" for every frame, so field order issues are no longer relevant.

P.S. I've been away for a few days, sitting on the beach reading. I see you guys have been busy ;).

I don't understand then why my first try with the tool generated avs scripts with a line "FieldDeinterlace(blend=false") :?: :?

Then I forced the deinterlace to "not use" on the VTS_01 and all was okay.

I watched this again and noticed when the auido goes out of sync it seems to come back in sync but then out again for the whole dvd

Now being that is so slight i am wondering if its because its a hybrid film(ntsc and ntsc film)

any ideas

For sure that is not the ideal situation.
I didn't actually watch the whole DVD I encoded with DVD-RB so I probably missed this problem if it is present. Can you please tell us if you have this with other DVD you did (or will do) ?

bigggt 08-06-2004 09:30 AM

This was my first so i will try another and will post when its finished :D

bigggt 08-06-2004 12:23 PM

OK i need help joing the vobs

VTS 1-vob-ID 1
VTS 1-vob-ID 2
VTS 1-vob-ID 4
VTS 1-vob-ID 5

Can someone tell me if this is correct ,i just don't understand the joining process

bigggt 08-06-2004 04:50 PM

OK second movie and i got this again but with different numbers

Code:

cce encoding failed:OPV VBV OVF frame #43910:00:18:09)I 60212 max 5984259 rel 360.41.01 qsv 28.88-.28.88
2 movies and 2 error messages :?: , not a good start

is this a problem with CCE or dvd rebuilder

I have been using CCE with dvd2svcd and DIKO with no problems so that makes me believe its dvd rebuilder

audioslave 08-09-2004 09:38 AM

I don't know if it's been mentioned earlier in this thread but is it possible to keep the DVD menus when encoding with DVDRebuilder and CCE?

bigggt 08-09-2004 10:02 AM

Hi Audioslave i could be wrong but i think that is the whole purpose of dvd rebuilder to keep the dvd in tact

hopefully Sansgrip will be back soon to shed some light

audioslave 08-09-2004 10:43 AM

@bigggt
Hi! Yes, that's what I suspect too

I just bought myself a 250 GB hard drive so now I'm really excited to get home from work and start trying out DVD Rebuilder :D The only reason I didn't try this method earlier was due to my lack of hard drive space.

audioslave 08-09-2004 12:43 PM

Hmm...
I have ripped the entire DVD and pointed DVDRB to that directory. I have also made a "working directory" (empty folder) for DVDRB to use. And when I'm trying to run OPV prediction (in RB-Opt) it says "Error enumerating directory F:\XXX"... What am I doing wrong? Help me out here guys, please
