Dialhot 08-09-2004 12:54 PM

Yes that is a little bug I mentioned once.

The directory that you don't mentioned in your message is "prediction", isn't it ?
Create it yourself, manually, under the working directory you give to DVD-RB .

audioslave 08-09-2004 12:56 PM

@Dialhot
Yep, that was it! :) Thanks!
But now I get a new error: "Invalid file name" ?! (From CCE)

Dialhot 08-09-2004 01:04 PM

:!: :?:

Did uou give the path to ECLCCE, not to CCE itself ?

audioslave 08-09-2004 01:07 PM

Yes I set the path to eclCCE...

Dialhot 08-09-2004 02:06 PM

Can you find the file called "item.ecl" if it was already created by DVD-RB and post it here ?

audioslave 08-09-2004 04:47 PM

Sure, I will look for it. Hold on, please......

Couldn't find any file with that name, but I found "vts_01.ecl"...?
It looks like this:

Well, I reinstalled CCE and now RB-Opt says "Could not create CCE process" when I'm about to start the prediction... I'm beginning to get quite desperate  . Surely I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what :? .

SansGrip 08-09-2004 10:15 PM

Work is still in progress. I'll keep you posted :).

audioslave 08-10-2004 04:23 AM

@SansGrip
Thanks  .

audioslave 08-10-2004 01:08 PM

... :?:
How's it going? I don't mean to stress you up SansGrip, I'm just excited about trying this interesting method of making KDVDs  .

SansGrip 08-11-2004 06:01 PM

I've been kinda busy with other things (work etc.) recently, but I should be able to get back to RB-Opt soon...

SansGrip 08-26-2004 03:30 PM

Just a quick update... RB-Opt with OPV prediction is almost ready for release. I imagine robot1 will put it out in the next day or two. Things have changed a bit since the version I posted here, so you'll wanna read the doc file that comes with it.

It's pretty nifty, even including a variation on Incredible's ping-pong method as a "verification" step. I think you'll have fun playing with it :).

Zyphon 08-26-2004 03:45 PM

Hi SansGrip, this is great news :D im glad you used Inc's Ping-Pong method as well can't wait to see the new release. ;)

audioslave 08-26-2004 03:54 PM

@SansGrip
Yes, very good news! I can't wait either. :D

bigggt 08-26-2004 06:53 PM

Looking forward to the new version also

@ Sansgrip

I noticed on doom 9 you suggested someone to use the KVCD notch matrix on lower bitrates like 3500

I'm just curious what you use for higher bitrates

thanx

At higher bitrates I prefer the look of the CCE standard matrix over the Notch. At very high bitrates I think the MPEG standard matrix is probably the best. But the Notch is definitely the champion when it comes to low bitrate encodes...

I wonder where all this will lead to. Now we're talking about "low bitrate" and 3500kb/sec.
Imagine 2 years ago...
waiting for the new version!

Don't worry, we found things to do in the meantime :smileysex:

bigggt 08-27-2004 04:07 PM

Need help downloading it

Lately i have been getting this message

Code:

Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded
I haven't changed anything to my knowledge

anyone know what i need to change to get it to work

thanx

rds_correia 08-27-2004 04:39 PM

@bigggt
Hi there :)
Using Firefox 0.9.3 (it has an embeded download manager) I couldn't download it too.
So I tried Internet Exploder and with this one I was successful.
So try to disable any download manager you have bigggt and use the right mouse button and
the "Save Target" feature.
Cheers

Note: I've seen this happening before as I have a webpage at www.freewebs.com too and other
guys here also complaint that they can't download my files too.
Maybe this is a "freewebs provider" issue?

bigggt 08-27-2004 04:52 PM

thanx Rui

I'm using Internet explorer and i don't use a download manager ,its weird i have been using this computer for quite a while now but its just recently i have been having this problem

any other suggestions:D

edit-figured it out :D

Thanks SansGrip I downloaded it and can't wait to test the new version. :)

audioslave 08-30-2004 07:26 AM

I don't know if I'm going blind, but I can't find the prediction button?!
In RB-Opt 0.13 that is...

EDIT: Never mind. I read the docs and found out how to use it!

audioslave 08-30-2004 08:36 AM

Now I have another problem. When I have prepared the *.ini file In RB-Opt 0.13 and return to DVD-RB and press encode CCE starts and then says '"G:\DVD\RIPS\DVD2AVS\item.ecl" is not an ECL for CCE-SP'... What am I missing?

Dialhot 08-30-2004 08:44 AM

You problably select the bad CCE version in DVD-RB options or link it to ccsp.exe and not eclcee.exe.

audioslave 08-30-2004 08:48 AM

The "bad" CCE version?

Dialhot 08-30-2004 09:06 AM

There si 3 choice in DVD-RB :
- CCE SP (2.50+)
- CCE SP (2.66+)
- CCE Basic (2.67+)

CCE SP and CCE Basic have nothing to do each other. If you have CCESP 2.67 you must select "CCE SP 2.66+" and NOT "CCE Basic 2.67+".
I did the mistake the first time.

And second ,be sure to select eclCCE and not ccsp.exe in the setup.

Note : user matrix DOES NOT work with cce sp 2.50. If you have this, you can't use RBOPT in OPV mode.

audioslave 08-30-2004 09:11 AM

Thanks Dialhot. You were right, I did choose the Basic version before. I have changed it to 2.66+ SP now.
Is there a way of setting up CCE so I don't have to choose the DC precision and stuff for every cell?

No there is not but you need to do that for each cell ? In my memory that is for each Vob-ID. That is only one for the movie (as you have to join Vob-Ids first if the movie is made of several ones).

I do'nt have time to do a new test right now.

SansGrip 09-01-2004 08:19 AM

Just wondering if anyone's playing with the new RB-Opt... Any success/failure reports?

I did not yet. Probably this we.
(I used a lot the beta you did some days ago).

bigggt 09-03-2004 12:51 PM

Just thought i would let you know there is a new version of dvd-rb out

version 0.57

TBO 09-03-2004 03:05 PM

guys:

so is it possible to create a kdvd with menus and subs on 1 or 2 CD-R's?

thanks

Zyphon 09-06-2004 04:03 PM

Hi Guys, I just bought the original Battlestar Galactica Box set DVD (a childhood favourite of mine :D) and I wanted to test the new Sansgrip's latest RB-Opt with it to see the quality.

There are four episode on each DVD and only one VTS1.

Now the question I have is, do I have to join these VOBs? Or seeing as they are seperate episodes leave them as individuals :?:

Thanks in advance for any help guys. :)

Dialhot 09-06-2004 04:19 PM

You must let them a individual else the chapters won't fit.

I guess that each episode is in a separate PGC (programm group cell) with chapter starting from #1 for each.

Zyphon 09-06-2004 04:24 PM

Thank you Phil for the information and help much appreciated. :)

Oh man, that's not fair.
I still can't find it here in Ptg.
Maybe I'll have to buy it online.
That sure brings back remindings...
I still see it on RTL once in a while but I can't understand s**t of what they're saying and the picture quality is awfull.
I sure would like to test RB-Opt with it :D
Cheers

Yeah I thought the original series was a classic Sci-Fi I wasn't as impressed by the later Galactica 1980 series expect for the 'Return of Starbuck' episode. The BSG 2003 mini-series just plain sucks to me. I guess im old school.

@Rui
I bought my Box Set here in the U.K at >this< site. Maybe they will deliver to Portugal or hopefully you have a place nearer to you where u can get it. :)

Sorry for the OT guys just taking a trip down memory lane. :D

EDIT:I will let you guys know what results I get with the new Opt-RB.
