I really need help...

What tool, NOT complicated I can use to find the CQ setting in TMPGEnc?

I'm using the KVCD template to fit my movie in a single CD...

But sometime, I get a 100Mb free at the end of burning... not very optimal.

I do a manual file prediction with a 5min sample file. After that, I do this:

example:
I take the movie lenght(105) multiply by the sample file in MB(30), and divide the result by the sample in min (5).

So, (105 x 30) / 5 = 630Mb

But this kind of prediction is not very good... sometime my file prediction is 950Mb, but at the end is only 700Mb... not very good.

So, can someone with a big heart can help me? I've try to use CQMatic, but I don't really understand. If only someome can give me a "step-by-step" with all to do, option by option, to find a optimal CQ with my movie, and with all of my future movie.

Thanks alot!

I've try to use CQMatic, but I don't really understand.
It's really easy. Open your source file (.avs or .d2v) with TMPEG, then load your favorite template. Check that you have your MAX bitrate to 2,000Kbps, and your MIN bitrate to (0.57 * average bitrate).
You get the average by loading Moviestacker and loading your .d2v. On the "Video Stream" window, you'll see the average bitrate. After you have your encoder all set the way you want, save the project as a "text" project. You'll see that option in TMPEG, under "File/Save project". Now run CQMatic. Press on "Settings", and select you TMPGEnc executable. You only need to do that once, as the path is stored on a file. Only if you move your CQMatic file to some other directory, then you would have to click on "Settings" again.
Now enter the movie time and average bitrate in the two fields. Then click on "Open Project", and load your TMPGEnc saved project file. Click on "Execute" and forget about it
Your movie will start to predict, and then encode.

Well, that's a problem
File prediction (even manual) is not very good with DivX files. It's related to the way DivX (or XviD) CODECs "seek" to random, non sequential frames. So even doing manual prediction with these types of files is very inaccurate.

ok, I understand, but what technique I can use to get the most of my DivX? I mean, what operation I can use to get a more accurate CQ? 5% of error will be acceptable?
