Ok here is the problem. I turned off my computer via the power supply one night cause it froze up and the next day during the boot up it hanged up during boot. So i restarted and then it couldnt find the boot sector. So i went ahead and installed a new OS on another spare hd i have and the comp bios detects the WD during boot but xp does not recognize in my computer. So i was wondering how could i go about getting my information off this hd or getting winxp to detect it again. I would really love to have my files off that hd.

Heyitsme with 300 gigs less than i did a week ago.

For whatever reason you disc seems to have been turned as "unactive" or "hidden" (for an OS point of view). This info is in the partition table of the disc.

You should DL on the net the "Ultima Boot CD" and see with one of the tool if you can restore the situation (I don't really know the tool that are in the CD, but for sure one of them allows to do that).
