hello i`m starting to get the hang of backing up my dvd`s but i still cannot get my #3 earnhardt to get in sync audio and video, others sync no problem, the last one i just did was a interlace and i got it to sync no problem but it comes up as temp00.mpg and temp01.mpg?two files and cannot get it to 80min cd-r?
i used kvcd-cq-352x240-_ntsc film_-plus.mcf. the video is 140mins 9 secs,
calcumatic gives me 660kps. now with video longer then 120mins should i be using a different template?

You should not have any problem to fir the video on a CD with this template.

But the name of the files (tempXX.mpg) does not give any hint about how you generated them.
What are you doing step by step AFTER calcumatic ?

sry bout lack of info
use cqmatic then excute opens tmpgenc then takes bout 1 1/2hour to get my m1v file.
then i open BB avimpg2.exe click start encoding program then click settings, program stream settings- there i click vcd, check vbr, change force muxed to 0 then leave that and click inputs and outputs, there i load my m1v file in video, and mp2 file in audio, then leave there and click general settings.multiplexing have check and check, change end second to 99999 and max size to 795mb. then click ok then start there it mixes files together then it gives my two files temp00.mpg is 812784kb and temp01.mpg is 10570kb.

In bbmpeg change 795 by 805.
Try to burn it as usual and if you can't, enable nero (preferences, misc or advanced) or VCDEasy for doing overburn. In nero when doing overburn, sometimes you need to select dao96 as recording type.

Your original movie has 8409 seconds.
8409*660/8=693.743KB
What is the final size of your encoded video?
Would should be around 693.743KB?
What's the size of the audio file you are muxing the video with?
It could happen - rare occasion - that tmpgenc oversized the encoded movie.
According to the math, and since Calcumatic found 660Kbit/s, it should be 693.743KB.
But then you have to tell us your audio size and the audio encoded bitrate.
Then we'll add the encoded video size with the encoded audio size and we'll add 10MB for muxing overhead and we'll see if BBMpeg did the job wrong or if tmpgenc did the job wrong.
Cheers

when i mix the two together my mpg file is 843,104
BUT
i just used BBMpeg again and change 795 to 805 then ran nero and used overburn and got it to work.
when i draged the file into nero it analizes the file and comes up with the bar just over the 700mb spot , like714mb , what would be the biggest file that i could do like this with overburn?

About 825-829 Mb.
But notice that 843104 KB are 843104/1024 = 823.34 Mb.

Spolik : you are not doing anything bad. CQMatic has accuracy problem sometimes. You should recode the video but with 650 as birate. Or recode the audio with a lesser bitrate to have more space for the video.
Or use a CD90 min.
