Did you load you KVCD LBR.ini into D2S after the modification

You have to do this (tab "misc", button "load"). Or if you want you can put it directly into dvd2svcd.ini but you risk to loose everything one day (as dvd2svcd.ini is modified at each launch of D2S)

Tsssssss, never read it in a guide before (or remembered it wrong)-> forgot to load the script.

Now I've loaded the script and I see the correct options in the frameserver tab.

Few questions:

I CAN use the LBR ini for creating SVCD 480x567 right ? (the "LBR" name in the ini is a bit confusing).

Should I change the default settings of the LBR ini if I want to make SVCD (on BBmpeg tab set output format to SVCD instead of VCD ?).

I have installed Avisynth 2.5.1 (is this the correct version ?) now but get errormessage on Conversion-preview tab of DVD2SVCD ("There is no function Un.........")

Isn't this caused because there are no "Load" commands/entries in the ini ???.

PS: check my sample pics from first succesfull KSVCD at http://home.hccnet.nl/van.nieuwland. Pretty good (already) aren't they ?? [/url]

Yes. And change "MPEG1" to "MPEG2" in the misc tab. Else you will do a MPEG1 SVCD, that is not standard (but has a nicer picture, all my KVCD are MPEG1 SVCD ).

No, you need 2.52

One more time : No need of "loadplugin" lines in avs2.5x. All you have to do is to put ALL the plugins into the folder named "plugins" under the directory of avs2.52. Simple isn't it ?

OK,

I have Avisynth 2.52 now and have all plugins in the C:\Program
Files\DVD2SVCD\Avisynth2.5 Plugins directory. -> still the same
errormessage ("There is no function named undot" . It's probably simple
but I'm overseeing something I guess...

Another question After I have a GOP of 1-15-2-1-15 after loading the LBR
ini. Can this be correct ? I thought it should be 1-100-2-1-25(PAL) ??

Why are there "loadPlugin" lines in the optimal script from Kwag ? Forgive
me that I don't understand why I still get error message.

OK, sorry -> All my plugings were in subdirectories in C:Program
files\avisynth. I correct this and now I have a good preview picture but
on top there is a text "Evaluate: unrecognized exception! (Script clip, line
1) ??

Any ideas ?

OK, The "exception" problem is solved by deinstalling ffvw (or something) and Avisynth deinstall->re-install (found it through "search" -> Yes, I am not a lazy bastard .

Now I only need info on the GOP settings which are 1-15-2-1-15 in my standard KVCD LBR.ini -> should be 1-100-2-1-25(PAL) or not ??

PS: Í want to make SVCD MPEG 2 PAL on 1xCDR80 for "OneHourPhoto" DVD rip.

It's funny to see you making questions ans answers

Yes, you have to change your GOP setting : 1-25-2-1-25, there are my setting.

Change the last to 12 or 15 if you want to make classic cartoon (Disney classics...).

If you want SKVCD settings in DVCD2SVCD you can try my litle plugin:

DVD2KVCD

And then:
1) Place the downloaded file in DVD2SVCD folder.
2) Run the file
3) Select MA script in avisynthfilter tab.
4) Select PAL or NTSC
5) Click "Start DVD2SVCD"
After this you don't have to do any other changes. Just click GO!!!
Make sure that you have avisynth 2.52!!! (not 2.50)

This template produce only 352x480/576 (120 min). If you want 480x480/576 (about 100 min) insted, goto frameserver tab in DVD2SVCD and select "SVCD 480x480/576".

PS!!!!
The program is still a BETA version, so don't think of any other of the options in the DVD2KVCD window

@ azel,

thankx for the good help. I think I try your plugin a little later. I am still sorting out things myself........

@ dialhot (or anybody else who wants to comment )

I'm still uncertain if some of the default settings of my KVCD LBR.ini

For instance I always thought that you should have "output bitstream for edit (closed GOP)" checked ? Is this so ?

Shouldn't I use "detect scene change" as well ?

Last, Dialhot, you say all your KVCD's are MPEG 1 SVCD's because it has a nicer picture. How is it nicer, isn't MPEG 2 better at SVCD resolutions ??

No, uncheck it. It adds some bytes to the file that we can use for other things.

With the MA script yes. Not with a "old" static filtering script.

Nope. MPEG1 is better for low bitrates (<2300 Kbs, that is the case for all our KVCD).

OK Dialhot -> I'll try MPEG1 to see if it can still be better.

As I'm using your script I guess I don't need to check the "closed GOP"
setting.

Looking closely to my OneHourPhoto KSVCD on the Standalone player
(Cyberhome) I've noticed there is a very slight audio desynchronisity. It
is very slight but you can notice it (audio comes a little bit earlier
then video). The strange thing is that this doesn't happen in WMP or
PowerDVD. Good this be caused by the fact that I have the VBV buffer
set at "0" (auto) ?? What is a good value for VBF buffer ?

Also with a new project (Disney classic - Oliver) I wanted to use
deinterlace (DVD2AVI says that the source is interlaced) but that doesn't
seem to work in DVD2SVCD. What filter/method do I need and how do I
go about it ? (Frameserve -> "edit as part of video encoding" ? -> how i
edit ?)

I don't see many screenshots in the KVCD forum -> don't you think this
good be a good forum topic "succes stories with screenshots" ?
