Hey guys

Basically i have got about 10 or so WMV files that i want to eventually get to kvcd. I presume i start by joining the WMV files then go into vdub and rip out the audio and then convert the WMV to avi and finally encode avi and audio file tmpgenc, does this sound right?

How do i join the WMV files? Will vdub read WMV?

Please someone advice me on best course of action

Cheers guys.

VDUB doesn't read WMV Files. With the new Version of TMPGEnc you can just join the WMVs in the Wizzard or the main Window and encode it to KVCD. I do it so. And never encode a Video to another an then to MPEG. The Quality is very bad.

There's an old version of Virtualdub (that can open ASF), if you can find it, that will open wmv. But be prepared for lots of audio synch issues.

i recently converted and joined a bunch of asf and wmv porno clips to mpeg using directshowsource in Avisynth. You have to specify the frames per second- check the manual. I extracted the audio with Goldwave. Didn't have any sync problems- the "oohs" and "aahhs" were all in sync

You can also use the program ASFtools 3.1 in order to join WMV files
That's what I did.

Use the Wizzard and load a template. Than put in Input " All Files" and then choose your WMV File. The newest Version of TMPGEnc read them.
