This cheap dvd-player (i bought this device for about 100$) plays all KVCD templates (thanks, kwag) EVEN with 48 Khz MP2 sound

P.S. May be try to feed him AC3 sound?

P.P.S. Now i'm encode all my movies using kvcd3x with 528x576 (PAL) or 480 (NTSC) resoluiton, doing pan&scan to 4:3 if movie 16:9 (I have conventional 4:3 TV set) or pans&scan to 16:9 if movie wider than 16:9. With CQ around 80 and Lanczos and BLockbuster ("dither", 0.4) and 224 kb/sec MP2 and put any movie to 2 CD.
