Avisynth: Video decompressor couldn't produce YUY2 output?

this is the error message I get when I try this:

AVISource("G:\Video\movie.avi",true,"YUY2")

What causes this, and how can I fix my decompressor?

ReadAVS.dll is nowhere to be found

Anyone know where this can be downloaded?

The links I've found have all been bad.

Which TMPGEnc filter is best for reading AVS files?

Choices as far as I know:

DirectShow, VFW, ReadAVS.dll

Which is best, and why would I choose one over the other?

Isn't the output of AVISynth (i.e., the served frames) just uncompressed...
