Because in you case Directshow filter took priority on the real codec and it seems that this filter was a crap ;-)

All is matter of what is installed on your PC and in wich order it was installed....

UnCheck directshow support in the environnement...

UnCheck directshow support in the environnement settings of TMPGENC (tab VFAPI) and try again.
