My only real question regarding widescreen is just this:
On some dvd's the widescreen or letterbox is very thin or small and on other dvd's the widescreen is larger which is easier to watch. ...

On certain backups I can choose between widescreen and standard format on the DVD, in the ripping process how does one tell which is which? I prefer the standard...
