Dialhot - you've got the answer!.
Tmpg works well on files that are generally low bitrate, or don't have bitrate spikes.
Tmpg worked on a few of my kvcd's - but lately I have to cut 10 mins off...

When I multiplexed with tmpg, the reulting mpg...
When I multiplexed with tmpg, the reulting mpg (to vcd via vcdeasy) plays on the stand alone, but there's a 1/4 sec pause about every 4 secs.
I tried all sorts of things to fix it, thinking it was...
