On the first recording (where the sound went bad) VirtualDub did crash, maybe the AVI file wasn't closed correctly?

I just tried with avisynth (your script, thanks!) and it works correctly! :)

I doubt it is a hdd error. The hdd I use, to store and play it on, is brand new.

I googled the Gspot message ("unneeded bytes at end of file") and it's a normal feature/bug. So I can ignore that....
