Kwag,
Am I supposed to check "Dolby Surround Downmix" and "Demux" when splitting out the .ac3 file?

Also with Headac3he under MP2enc configuration do you select
Mode: CBR?
Bitrate:224?
Channel Mode:"Stereo" or "Joint Stereo" or "Dual Channel" ?

Just select "demux" to extract the ac3 audio. You don't need to select "Downmix", because that would be used only if you "decode" the audio.
In headac3he, select CBR, your prefered bit rate, "Dual Channel".
You can leave the other parameters as default.

Thanks a lot!
That's been concerning me for-ever. Maybe that's why the audio gets out of sync throughout the movie. I had to go back to adding the audio in Tmpgenc just to get it done. Well, I'm trying the Headac3he routine again to see if this that works. Let you know later. I also have some interesting results with earlier templates I want you to try and tell me how they look on HDTV. i'm really curious because I will get one eventually and I want to encode specifically for that now to watch later.
