KVCD with No Audio?

Ok i am working with a XVID movie that has MP3 audio and trying to convert it to KVCD 1 disc so i can play it on my home DvD player.

Now i have take the xvid movie into virtual dub ripped out audio saved the movie as a normal AVI file with no audio then have taken and made a .wav file from the same source for the audio doing full processing mode and putting the bitrate at 44.1khz.

Now then i take and did up the movie useing the KVCD template and it comes out fine with no audio then i take the audio file i did with virtual dub and put it into "headache audio app" and convert it to Dual channel 112k audio MP2 file and that works fine.

Then i take both into Tmpenc and do simple multiplex of the video and audio file and it finishes fine but when playing it back on the computer the audio is out of a sync a good couple seconds at least,am i missing a step i tried to follow the idiot guide on the site and did everything i was told but it still comes out out of sync.

Now if i do the same exact steps but do a normal vcd and add the no audio avi file made from virtual dub and add the 44.1 khz 900meg audio file the movie plays perfectly and this is how i do all my normal XVID to 2 cd VCD conversions.

So i guess it's something happening in the conversion process of either the avi being turned into the m1v format or whatever it is or the audio file being converted to MP2 cause otherwise it's still done the same way untill both those things are done.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks alot in advance.

Ok this is even worse now i just did clip of one of my dvd movies useing DvDX and did 44.1khz audio and encoded it as a Xvid then i did all the steps for KVCD and the audio comes out perfectly in sync with the video,so must be something making it go wrong going from XVID with MP3 audio to 44.1.wav to 44.1 mp2 cause if the source has already 44.1 audio then it seems to work fine.

Maybe XviD is in PAL and you encode to NTSC or visceversa.
If it is the case, when you use BeSweet activate OTA settings and make fps change.

Nope don't think so it says it's 23frames per second on it

And KVCD Templates are NTSC also?

Yep i tripple checked after it failed to sync the audio the first time it's the right one says NTSCFilm in the template and matches the one i picked.

Can you tell the length in minutes of : the original avi, the wav file, the mp2 file and the final mpeg ? Please.

1:36:07 for the movie without audio in it.

96mins and 6 seconds of the uncompressed wav file from virtual dub.

96mins and 6 seconds on the MP2 created with headache audio app.

I must be doing something wrong cause even doing one of my other dvd's i can't seem to get the audio in sync doing a 1 cd KVCD if i do a normal vcd everything works perfectly but once the movie get's converted to m1v and the audio to mp2 everything goes to hell.

Could it be my source from DvDx for the audio see what i do is instead of normally doing a dvd to vcd which gives crap quality i do DvD to Xvid useing 112 or 128bit Lame MP3 inside dvdx and then just run it through tmpgenc afterwards to go to VCD which gives great quality that looks almost as good as the Xvid since that was the source instead of just going straight VCD.

That may sound like an extra step not needed but try it you can really see the difference between a dvd to VCD quality from a dvd to xvd to vcd if your willing to spend the 2 cd's which has worked for me except for i'm just a little tired swapping cd's all the time during a movie

It's possible that the standalone can't handle KVCd correctly and this result in audio out of synch.

I don't know how you do your DVD->VCD direct process but this gives THE BEST QUALITY ! You can't have better with using an intermediate Xvid.
And of course I'm talking about experienced things, not only theory.

But anyway, you should do KVCD, not VCD

No i'm not doing it on the standalone yet i can't even get it off my computer since the audio is out of sync on my machine when i convert to m1v and mp2 audio.

And i think dvd to vcd looks bad compared to dvd to xvid to vcd you can notice a change especially when watching it on a PC i can even tell the difference on the tv between the 2.

i grabbed a KVCD off the net of a movie i already have cause i liked the idea of 1 cd movie for backups and i loved it so that's why i'm trying to make my own.

So i already know the dvd player will play them both my JVC S500bk or whatever and my memorex dvd player play the format so all i need is for the computer to have audio in sync first before i burn them.

If the dvd player was doing the audio all messed up that would be one thing but when it don't work on the pc there's something very wrong when it get's converted to those formats.

Btw my dvd to vcd process is done through DvDx when i use to do it like that till i found that going Xvid first gave better results for the TV and while being played on the computer.
