The templates that you can download from the mainpage...

If I start TMPGEnc and choose one of the templates (PAL), 352*288, 352*576, 704*576 or KVCDx3 MPEG-2... the max GOP of these are set to 24. Isn't this wrong? Shouldn't the max GOPs be 25, or am I totally wrong?

Hi Leksa,

We use a GOP of 24, no matter if it's for NTSC or PAL.
Longer than that, you start to get "flickering".

So the information on the main page is wrong

I thought that with PAL- templates you should always use max GOPs with 25

Indeed
It was DEAD wrong
Thanks for pointing that out. I just fixed it.
The GOP size (max) should be 24 for all. Either PAL or NTSC, at whatever frame rate

As a matter of fact, when you set the max GOP length to 24 or 25, it will be 24 frames anyway. I'm not sure if it's a bug or if the GOP structure forces the behaviour.
