I was reading through this forum, and had a question about min. and max. bitrate settings. I notice that the new version of CalcuMatic no longer calculates the min. bitrate. Some posts I had read led me to believe that min. and max bitrates are no longer used in predicting the CQ value. Does this mean that I just need the avg bitrate and movie length for CQMatic to do it's thing, and that I can leave the bit rate settings in Tmpgenc as 2500 and 300 (or what ever I choose to use)? Or should I still manually enter my max and bitrate settings? Previously I had been using a min. of avg. bitrate*.57, and a max. of 2300, when using the KVCDx3 template.

I suggest you 2300 as max and the lower min your player accepts whithout choking (not under 64).
