You want a free encoder or you want a tmpgenc MPG2 encoder ?

For the first kind, look for Qenc, HC, Freenc... here on the forum or anywhere else on the net (doom9, videohelp...).

For the second category : just pay for a license !

Hi Dialhot

What I need is the FREE mpeg-2 encoder which can be used in tmpgenc.

Can you tell me where to download one (the exact link) and how to set it as default encoder in tmpgenc?

Hi lbhl,

The MPEG-2 portion of TMPEG expires 30 days after installation.
Only the MPEG-1 functions afterwards.
You can buy the full version here: http://www.pegasys-inc.com
It's $37.00

You CAN'T do that.
From where do you take such idea.
You have a lot of mpeg2 encoders, but they do its job by themselves.
If you do a deep search in internet, you will find out a lot of answers to your general questions.
Also there are many trial versions of not free softwares, as Cinema Craft Encoder, TMPGEnc itself, Mainconcept Encoder.
If you insist to use TMPGEnc, you can use mpeg1. Also mpeg1 is the better output of TMPGEnc.

Like Prodater said you can't do that but there are loads of Freeware Mpeg 2 encoders available, you will see a lot of them over at Doom9.

For example there is: FreeEnc, NuEnc, QuEnc, HC Encoder & AutoQMatEnc to name but a few free Mpeg 2 encoders.

Just do a websearch via Google you will find them or do a search for them in this forum and you will find links for them.

Good luck.
