I had taken DIVX and other formats by demuxing and encoding to the KVCD format... But I just tried a DVD today... I picked a 90 minute movie called "Spriggan" it's Anime... Anyway, I used CladXP to Rip the Vobs and FrameServe... Then TMPG to encode the new file to KVCD... Only things I changed was 352 by 240 since my player HATES when I try 480 and Joint Stereo for the Sound, I did put CQ=68 and Maxbitrate at 2000... A Quick 4 hours Total on my system I had a 475 Meg Mpeg... It was so small I thought I forgot to encode sound at all... I tested it on the PC and it was GREAT... I'm Burning the KVCD in Nero RIGHT NOW... I'll now the Final Word in afew Monents... It's a GO !!! Works like a Champ in my Apex 1200...

Hi trunksgt72:

I love to hear those kind of success stories

You might want to set your CQ to 74. You'll get a much better quality, specially at 352x240.

And for this particular movie, if you set your CQ to 76, your final size should be around 675MB. Perfect for a 74 minute CD-R.

Thanks, I understand alittle better now that I have one done... I really need to get a BitRate Calc and Do the math before I start these things... I've used FITCD in the past and it seems well suited to the task at hand... However just a note, but the Quality at 68 was almost equal to the DVD being Anime I figure helped that out abit... My next is a Longer Live Action DVD I'll take me lessons learned and see how this goes... Plus I just got my new RIG built... A 1700+XP, 512megs PC2100, 133 Raid Controller... Quite the Upgrade from my 1.2 ThunderBird... After seeing what could be done in Mpeg-1 my Buds all chipped in some "Spare Parts" to build a faster Machine...
