That's what I thought. Do not use the wizard, it bypasses some settings of the template and put it's own.

Generally speaking, yes of course. The KDVD template is aimed to keep a descent quality with a lower bitrate than the standard DVD template.
And with the KDVD template, without the wizard, and changing only the CQ (do not put it too low) you should have easily more than 2 hours that fits on your DVD.
Note: Be carefull, we are speaking about widescreen material, not fullscreen.
