Cheers for the heads up
Been using HCE a lot lately since 0.16 fixed the issues with my sap, really starting to like it.

Well you guys are fast
Just wanted to post the message here also, too late...

There are no real changes in the encoding engine in this version, a lot of bug fixes, hope the nasty 'memory error' bug' is finally solved.

How do I use the CQ, i mean how to predict its value ???

Is there a way that If I provide the output size, HCEnc will then compute the CQ values dynamically ????

I can't see the error message because the HCEnc_017 screen shows it so fast that it's no possible for me to see it.

In the log file I only can see two lines, as follows:

=============
=============

My .ini runs ok with de previous HC_Encoder 0.16...

-Thanks

Hi Maurus ,
Just to let you know that I haven't had any issues with HC lately and I have already upgraded to HC 0.17 for some weeks already.
Cheers

Send a message via ICQ to incredible
Im on Win2000 and when importing an .avs script again 0.17 crashes like it was the case some releases before. On d2v imports this problem doesn't occur.

Im not in the development of HCenc., so this issue maybe already has been discussed in doom9?

I'm using now (I think DVD2AVI is not supported) the DGIndex/DGDecode project. I'm using the last dgdecode DLL (1.47).

I have the same problem, on win2000.
For another file, I fixed that by changing the dc prec (thanks Gamma) but no, it doesn't work.
I can't load any avs file anymore.

The problem with the HC Encoder 0.17 (not with 0.16 and previous versions) it0s the next line:

Code:
GripCrop(704, 576, overscan=2, source_anamorphic=false, dest_anamorphic=false)
...for a 4:3 aspect source. I'm using the AVISynth 2.5.6 and DGIndex/DGDecode project.

If I remove this line HCEnc_017 works, but I can't use SansGrip filters.

Another option for automatic crop and resize and aspect ratio in batch proccess from DVD sources, without use Paranoia or FitCD?

I think you are the person I answered a few days ago about the same question : you can try the function VMesquita has developped for his tool Diko. I think you just have to DL and install it ans you should find them somewhere in a template or an avsi file somewhere in the install directory.

They are called DivxResize, DivxCrop... or something like this.

Or...you can take Andrej's PARanoia and use it to build a regular crop>resize>addborders.
It is very simple to use and it just takes you 2 minutes .

sorry guys
I guess Phil's right: too few sleep here.
And he's right about DivxResize.
I think that's the only way to instead of GripFit_YV12.
Cheers

Solved!!!

Using the VMesquita's functions instead SansGrip filters, I can now use the new HC Encoder 0.17.

Thanks for all.
