I know how this sunject sounds. Like typo, like stupid. It could be, but I
would like to ask first. Is it possible to extract mpeg-1 from kvcd and to
put it back as same format and everything into kvcd again?
I want to add chapters to some movies I've done before and I don't want
to encode everything one more time. If there is no way to to do that
without encoding... it's simple, I'm not going to do it.
So, can I?

ok, i'll post, since this is what I USED to do way back when I used to do
nothing but VCDs he he..
I used to use an app called ifEdit (spelling - was long ago) and I would
just cut piece out, and re-save as chapters ie,
1.mpg
2.mpg
3.mpg
.etc, .etc.
I think it was re-named to M1 (mpeg-1) and M2 (mpeg-2)
But, basically, all you really need is an MPEG-1 and/or MPEG-2 cutter
and just cut pieces out, re-save and individual pieces, and there you have
your chapters. Sorry I don't have any recent apps to mind.

Sure!, just use VCDGear to extract your .DAT file and convert it to .MPG. Then you can import it again into VCDEasy, and create your chapters

Oh, there is much more easier way if you have the mpeg.
Opening it in vcdeasy, going to menu chapters, deside exactly how do you
want to do them and that's it.

Use VCD Gear Like Swag said, I usually choose Raw(Track Image)> a tick on Fix Mpeg Error with your source and output, from there you will have your VCD Non Standard to record ones again.

Or use ISObuster, right click on AVSEQ01.MPG and click Extract but FILTER only M2F2 Mpeg frames, then add chapters with VCDEasy.

One more vote to VCDGear
Just extract your mpeg from your KVCD and burn it again with VCDEasy with the chapters.
